Ramya gets ready without speaking a word..Ramya, her mom Padma and Granny goes to Sreevalli silks..

"Ramya select a saree, Rajesh's family will be giving you a saree for Enagagement, before that first you will be wearing our saree and sit for pooja, after exchaning plates they will give their saree and you should change to that. They have got sky blue colour Kanchivaram Saree, so select some other colour" Said Padma..


"Its ok, you select something ma, anything is fine" says Ramya...

"See this colour madam, it suits well for your fair complexion, Amrutha help madam hold this saree so they can make selection" said Store manager...

Amrutha, the helper arranged a purple saree on one hand and Bettle nut colour saree on other hand...

"Oh this Purple colour is looking very good on you" said Granny..

"Ok, we will take this " said Ramya

Ramya was hardly interested in all this, she was still shocked by Arun's response..


Padma and Jagdish were busy arranging for Enagagement, Jagdish had taken 3days leave most of time Padma-Jagdish was outside booking for catering, flower decoration,buying gifts and stuff..When Ramya was alone at home, she badly wanted to call Arun, and ask
one last question, "Dint he ever love her ? What happened in 2days, afterall even Arun's sister and parents had agreed Ramya-Arun's Marriage"... But Ramya's ego was hurt, and she decided to forget Arun and Marry this so called "Rich, NRI" Proposal Rakesh..


Padma's siblings and Jagdish's siblings and Parents had come Saturday night itself.. Jagdish had arranged dinner for 20 people from near by mess. They all had dinner and sat in the living room...

"Congrats anna, you got a NRI son-in-law.. Said Jagdish's sister..

"yes Leela, thanks to Padma's mother for finding such a good proposal" said Jagdish.

"So our Ramya will go to U.S immediately after marriage or what??? asked Jagdish's father..

"No dad, Though Rajesh was born/brought up in U.S,currently he stays here.He is here from past 2years..His father is trying to set up a Restaurant in u.s, so after that Ramya-Rajesh will go u.s, and his parents will return to India to take care of their property in ooty,
So by then even our Ramya can finish degree" Said Jagdish...

"Its already 11;30, lets go to sleep, we need to be in choultry by 9;00am, Purohit comes by 9;30am.. Rajesh and family will be coming by 10;00am" Said Padma....


It was Sunday morning 6;00am..Everybody took bath and left to Choultry..Idli-vada and carrot halwa was arranged for breakfast.. Rajesh and family was welcomed with Arathi and Garland, and they
directly went to Breakfast..Around 11;00am the Function started....


Rajesh's parents and Ramya's parents exchanged plates, and Purohit read the Lagnapatrike(invitation) and read the Marriage date as Dec 5th(6 months from now).After that Ramya was called..

Padma's sister was a beautician, she had dressed Ramya beautifully..Ramya was looking great in purple colour saree and Antique set..One thing that was missing was her smile!!!


Few married women from Ramya's side and Rajesh's side, applied kumkum,Manjal,flowers,bangles and finally they did Arathi to her, and gave her the plate which had boys side Saree and flowers...

Padma's sister took Ramya inside, to help her wear that saree..Once she was ready, Rajesh and Ramya sat on Chair on a stage..Purohit told them to Exchange rings..Rajesh held Ramya's hands and placed a Diamond finger ring..Ramya raised her head to see Rajesh while placing Ring, she was taken aback by his makeup. He looked much odd in heavy suit and makeup.. She felt throwing all the things and running away from there, but consoled herself after remembering Arun;s Betrayal..

 

Rajesh's parents left to U.S a week after engagement..It was first sunday after Enagement.. Jagdish called up Rajesh to invite him for lunch...

Ramya was sitting in front of t.v, watching nothing but changing channels... "Ramya, Rajesh will be coming to lunch at 12;30..Wear a nice Chudidar and get ready" said Padma...

Padma had prepared Tomato soup, Roti,Panner butter masala, Fried rice,Curd rice Mushroom Manchurian and Jamoon with Icecream...Rajesh came home around 12;20.. Padma and Jagdish welcomed him..

"Ramya....Ramya Rajesh has come, get him some water" said Padma..

Ramya came out holding a glass of water, Rajesh touched Ramya;s hand while taking water.. She pulled her hand immediately and went inside the room.. "She is shy" said Padma..

"Its ok no worries.. said Rajesh....

Padma went inside to arrange dining table for lunch... Rajesh and Jagdish spoke about Rajesh's work and cricket and politics...

Padma called Ramya to serve Tomato soup...Ramya gave tomato soup to her dad and Rajesh...

"Jagdish can you please come here 1 min, Ramya you have that soup, sit there with Rajesh, while your dad help me here" said padma.. (she wanted Ramya spend some time with her fiance, after all thats why he was invited to house..)

Ramya sat in couch and was just looking down.. Rajesh decided to break the ice..

"Soup is tasty, did you make it " ?? asked Rajesh..

"hmmmm no no, mom prepared it" Said Ramya....

"Its ok, i can teach you cooking, afterall i am chef, laughed Rajesh" But Ramya was silent...

"So when is your college starting, you will go to 2ndyr B.Sc right ??" asked Rajesh..

"yes, 2nd yr, starts in July" answered Ramya...

By then Padma called them for lunch, Ramya felt relived...

"lunch is very tasty aunty, hope you will train Ramya also" said Rajesh...

"yes yes definitely, but its better if she learns from her chef husband" says padma.. Everybody laughs, But Ramya just gives a cold smile...

After this, every Sunday Rajesh was invited for lunch.. Padma-Jagdish tried hard to get Ramya spend some lone time with Rajesh..When Rajesh wanted to take Ramya for Movie, she refused.. Jagdish consoled Rajesh saying, she doesnt get along easily with everyone, and give her some time...

Padma explained Ramya to mingle with Rajesh, as he is going to be her husband, and promised she can finish her degree( assuming that is bothering her)

Padma... Padma... Next week its my boss's son's wedding..All employees are invited to come with Family...Its going to be a grand wedding.. I have invited Rajesh to join us too.. told Jagdish with excitement.

Padma wore a grand work saree and white stone earring and necklace..Ramya wore a Anarkali selwar and wore a pearl choker necklace and earrings..

Jagdish was walking here and there.."Its expected that you ladies are always late in getting ready, but where is Rajesh, its already 6;00pm..We have to start in 10mins, otherwise we wll get struck in traffic..."

By then phone rang..."uncle Rajesh here, i cant come, by roommate met with small accident, i need to be with him, you people carry on, have a nice time" said Rajesh...

 

Arunarc i dont get what you meant by that..In the begining of story itself i have mentioned Ramya come across few men, before she meets her MR right..

Obviously, hope you dint forget she is Rakesh;s wife.
