3. The Caribbean

There are around 700 islands in the Bahamas for families to enjoy the sea and tropical wildlife. If you want to plunder your riches shopping or at the Pirates in the Bahamas casino rest assured that there’s plenty for your family to do at the petting farm and the planetarium.

If you are want to experience nature then head to the Dominican Republic and enjoy swims with sea lions and dolphins or even sharks at the Ocean World or go for a jeep island jungle safari.

 If your family is filled with water sports enthusiasts then visit Aruba. You will have all the choices here. Be it snorkeling, banana boating or even excitement below the waves.

For a more peaceful family vacation choose Puerto Rico. It’s rich with history and the offers a great learning experience. Visit El Faro, an ecological reserve or go to the Aricebo Observatory to see the world’s largest radio telescope. Once all this is done take the kids to the Mayaguez Zoo and end your day shopping at the Fortaleza Street.

Saint Martin is one other option. Enjoy a swim at the calm crystal clear waters at the Le Gallion or Pinel Island beaches or hike up terrains at the Loterie Farm.

If you want to become a child again like your little one then visit Grand Cayman and ride a submarine or enjoy a ride to the Stingray City on a glass bottom boat. If you need some adventure then join a sword fight on the replica of the Jolly Roger.

Glass bottomed boats are also available in Turks and Caicos, an archipelago filled with family adventure. Spend some time seeing iguanas running on the beaches of Little Water Cay or take your kids for a visit to the Caicos Conch Farm.

For more family fun visit Jamaica. You will get opportunities to feed hummingbirds or pet crocodiles. And once you are done with this go for a ride on a bamboo raft with your family down the Rio Grande and enjoy foot-tapping calypso music.

The last one here is the Bermuda Aquarium, the experience of seeing shipwrecks at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute and visiting the huge replica of a living coral reef at the zoo in Bermuda.

4. Singapore

When at Singapore, while adults can enjoy shopping the kids can have a wonderful eating time at the Marina Bay. Next is Universal Studios, a theme park filled with rides that both young and old love and the Aquarius Water Park close by.

Also in Singapore is The Resort World with a casino which is hugely popular amongst families. It’s located in the Sentosa island, which is connected to Singapore by a bridge. Sentosa also boasts of luxury resorts with unspoiled beaches, the Mega Zip Adventure Park with its huge zip line to zoom over treetops, the Wave House where one can surf over two wave pools and the small kart, Luge, which speeds down a track.

You can also watch an animated film and shoot with laser guns at the Desperados. For adults, Singapore has many museums of which Images which tells the story of the country in an interactive fashion is popular. And after a daylong shopping, if you want to stare at the harbor then climb the Merlion – a 37m high statue of a lion with a fish tail and look at the view below from the top of the lion’s head.

Another place that hugely popular is the Jurong Bird Park and it has over 600 types of birds. And if it’s only shopping that you want to do then head to Funan Digitalife Mall, Simlim Square or the shops on Orchard Road.

5. Spain

Spain is one of the most family friendly destination, with something to do for everyone. Visit Madrid if your kids and husband are sports fans and take them for a soccer match at the Bernabeu Stadium and then spend the evening enjoying a boat ride at the Retiro Park.

If you are with elders then Barcelona is the place for you. It has great climate and is a wonderful combination of beaches, shopping, history and culture. While the elders can spend time gazing at Gaudi’s architectural creations, the kids can enjoy on the beaches, at the L’Aquarium de Barcelona or at the hilly terrains of the Guell Park.

The street performances at the Las Ramblas are another place for great entertainment. The Canary Islands are also a great choice, especially since it has the largest Aqua Park in Europe and also the largest parrot collection at Loro Parque and if that’s not enough, the ride a glass bottomed boat to admire the marine life.
