5. Musical Chair: This is like the regular Musical Chair, but with a twist. Have one less chair than the number of players. When the music plays, the players circle the chairs. When it stops, everyone sits on a chair, but when a chair is not available, the person must find a lap to sit on! It is fun to see how players figure the best way to do this – big ones at bottom, struggling with arms to hold on.

6. Burst the Bubble: This game needs considerable length of bubble packing that you may have at home. The kid who walks entire length of the packing without bursting the bubble wins a prize. It is fun to watch the kids beat the laws of physics to achieve this.

7. Robot: Have two pairs of kids to participate in this game. Tie the adjoining hands of each pair together. With their free hands (one with the left hand and other with the right), they must cover a package, fasten the rope around it and tie it a bow. The pair that finishes the task the first, wins.

8. Know Your Works: This helps to get the family know about the great epics or works. You can call out the character from a work and the family should name the work from which it comes. For instance, Arjuna, Answer: Mahabharatha. Make your own rules for a more colorful game.

9. Twist Me up: Have at least four different colors of cardstock. Cut out four circles of each color and tape them to the floor. You can choose Left Hand/Foot and Right Hand/Foot instructions for the different colors to twist them up. Ask the child to put their hand/leg on the floor as per the commands on the cardboard. It is a great way to spend some energy and have pure fun.

10. Family-Room Picnic: Go for a quick picnic right outside your kitchen. Grab a basket, pack things such as juice boxes, water bottles, snacks, paper plates and napkins. Spread a blanket in the living room and make some sandwiches. Gather all the family members and watch the mini lunch disappear in minutes.
