Back to Pregnancy Week by Week Guide

This is the time to be happy. As you complete week 9 of your pregnancy, the most critical days when chances of baby developing abnormalities being highest, are now finally over. With continued care and complete abstinence from any toxins entering your body, your baby should grow inside just fine. Find out what else you should expect as you progress in your pregnancy in our short guide to being pregnant.

Changes in Your Body at Week 10 Pregnancy

At 10 weeks of pregnancy although you still might feel a little bloated, your morning sickness will begin to subside.

If you visit your doctor during this phase, you will be able to hear your child’s heartbeat clearly during a scan. This will make you feel happy enough to combat the blues that the hormones estrogen and progesterone have been making you feel.

Your Baby’s Development at Week 10 Pregnancy

At 10 weeks of pregnancy the baby’s internal organs like the kidneys, liver, intestines and brain start functioning on their own.

As you move towards the 11th week of pregnancy, in the next three weeks, the baby’s length also grows rapidly. The baby will also begin to develop features like toenails.

Week 10 Pregnancy Tips and Advice

At 10 weeks of pregnancy if your aches and pains are increasing, consult a pregnancy acupuncture specialist and get yourself a pregnancy acupuncture. It will give you a lot of relief.

If you are above thirty-five and if there had been genetic problems in your family, then it is best to do some tests to find out whether the baby is fine.  One such test is the Chronic Villus Sampling to check for chromosomal abnormalities.

Urinary tract infection is a very common bacterial infection during pregnancy. See your doctor if you think you have it because if left untreated it can lead to kidney infection and increase your risk for pre-term labor.

Week 10 Fun

Exercise helps you to prepare for the physical and the mental stress during labor. So get yourself to doing some exercise that you will enjoy. Walking and swimming are the two best options.

Go shopping! Get yourself some stylish maternity clothes. And while we are at this topic, don’t forget a few extra bras. Since your breasts might feel a little sore and heavy during this time, buy good supportive cotton bras.

So have you bought maternity pants yet? Do they have elastic bands? Join our due date club here and share your thoughts with other mums-to-be.
