Molecular Thoughts

Dreams are those fragments of our life which, although regular, go unnoticed and are easily forgotten in wake of reality. However, there are a few dreams, and even nightmares, which stay with you and get that rare attention. And if you gave them enough thought, you’ll be surprised at the amazing stories that can blossom from them!

Many times, our subconscious picks up various fragments of information, connects them together, wraps it up in a nice package and presents it to us in our dreams. Says dream analyst Sangeeta Krishnan, ‘When we dream, our subconscious takes control. But because the language of the subconscious mind is very different, the images we see can range from slightly odd to bizarre.’

The question often arises whether dreams are trying to communicate something or if they are simply a private movie theatre of the mind playing everything that it registers. Sangeeta said, ‘Dreams can be considered as messages sent to you from the subconscious, to guide you in certain areas of your life. Dreams also allow us to process all the inputs we had during our conscious hours.’

It is often said that dreams can be a result of even a millisecond worth of information registered in our subconscious. ‘The subconscious is highly tuned in to things that even our conscious mind might not otherwise be aware of, which sometimes gets translated into dreams,’ explains Sangeeta.

Little do we realize, that sometimes our subconscious is nudging us to write the next bestseller.

The best illustration for this is the Twilight series, whose author Stephanie Meyer had a dream about a stunning vampire trying to explain to an ordinary human girl how them being together is not safe, since he loves her and also craves her blood.

She held on to that idea, and we all know where that has gotten her today. Not only Stephanie Meyer, but there are various examples of writers using their dreams in their work. Stephen King, the master of horror, has used dreams in a lot of his stories. The famous Frankenstein is another excellent example of a dream inspired story.

If not the entire story, authors tend to use them for certain parts of their work too. Award winning author and poet, Chitra Divakaruni, said, ‘I have turned some images from dreams into poems. Sometimes I take an image and put it into a short story.’

Your Fortune For Today
Wednesday, September 03rd, 2014

This is a fantastic day to be as active as possible. The more enthusiastic, creative, romantic, and even wild you are, the better. Plan tricks to play on friends, go out dancing, or do anything you most enjoy that generates excitement and passion. Be ready to accept any physical challenges.

Tempers may get hot today when someone says something that pierces you to your core. Address this problem right away, instead of letting it fester through the rest of the day. The solution requires sensitivity and caring. Let the offender know that he or she has hurt you significantly, if that is indeed the case. There’s no need for you to try to hide your feelings.

A sum of money above and beyond your usual income could come your way. This could be a bonus, settlement, or even a gift of some kind. You could put it to work making changes in your home, perhaps repairs, perhaps remodeling or redecorating. This may seem like a daunting prospect, but you’ll have the energy and enthusiasm in addition to the money. Go to it.

You may encounter forces that challenge you to defend what you’re doing. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It may be time to make a course correction. If you’re doing something that no longer nurtures your spirit, now is the time to move in a new direction.

Friction with family members, particularly women, could prove irritating, especially since you’re torn between their quirks and the love you have for them. This isn’t the time to hold grudges. Let them go. You might feel the urge to do some home repairs, redecorate, or otherwise improve your home, or perhaps cook a great meal. Channel your energy into these activities instead of quarreling. You’ll be glad you did.

Spend time and attention today upgrading your wardrobe and general appearance. This need not be expensive. Make it a personal challenge to look for bargains. Be more spontaneously affectionate and charming if you want to build relationships. Music and the pleasure of being near good friends will be most satisfying.

This is a great day to start new enterprises with others. Gatherings with friends or group activities could lead to ideas for new projects that fire your energy and enthusiasm. New immediate and long-term goals should be set. Some people may not be interested and could drop out, but don’t worry. Others who share your interests will quickly step in to take their places.

This could be a very busy day and you will be wise to work from a list. You can be a wonderful influence on children and might want to make this a special time for them. Calls to people who are introverted can make a huge difference in their lives.

Today you might wake up feeling that you can move mountains – and this might be exactly what you set out to do, figuratively speaking. Your physical energy, enthusiasm, and self-confidence are very high. Your own and others’ creative projects could take up a lot of your time. If you’re coaching or helping others, however, avoid the temptation to take over the project.
