Hair fall is one of the most common ailments that occurs in both men and women. However, for few, the fall can be more, causing anxiety. Here are few ways to control the fall of your precious locks of hair!

Avoid Hot Head Bath

Though hot water on the head may relax you it can actually rob your hair of its natural oils and breaks the hair follicles. It even damages the scalp leading to loss of hair.

Lukewarm water is sufficient to clean hair and then follow it up with a brief wash of cold water which will close the opened pores on the scalp.

Stimulate Blood Flow

Stimulate the growth of hair by giving your head a massage. Few minutes of head massage promotes the flow of blood to the scalp which leads to growth of hair.

Almond, jojoba, lavender, castor oil, virgin coconut oil are some great oils for scalp stimulation. Few oils also control dandruff.

Drink Enough Water

As with any other part of the body, water is always the quintessential element that can look after your beautiful locks. Keep your body hydrated which will flush out toxins from the system.  This is especially true for dry skin or dry scalp. Drink sufficient water and notice the difference.

Hair Hygiene

Never leave your hair brush with hair . This can breed bacteria in the brush and will dirty your hair the next time you use it.

Throw outdated hair products since the chemicals past the expiry date will do you more harm than good.

Remember to clean your hair accessories as they are great breeding areas, such as, head scarves and head bands.

Regularly clean your hair tools – hair clipper, brush, dryer, comb, etc.

Have your own comb and do not share it with anybody else.

If you are losing more than 100-150 hair per day, you must seek advise of your doctor.

Comb Your Hair Right

Treat your hair sensitively. Combing without proper care can cause damage to your hair.

Never comb wet hair. Dry your hair, put oil , massage the scalp and then comb. Combing is easy this way. Use a comb with bristles that are far apart.

Never comb your hair in the opposite direction which will cause hair fall.

If you have thick or curly hair, split the hair into different sections, use clips and comb each section separately.

Never use clips or bands that can tangle your hear causing hair fall.

Breathing exercises and certain asanas boost the circulation of blood to the scalp that will keep you mane looking glorious.

Suryanamaskar, Ushtrasana, Makarasana, Bhujangasana, Sarvangasana, Dhanurasana are some great poses that increases blood circulation and tones the neck, head and the scalp muscles.

Few minutes of Pranayama everyday also is effective for hair fall control.

Prevent Clogging of Dirt in the Hair

Cover your head when going to places that are windy, rainy on when waiting in the hot sun.  Also remember to use swimming caps when you decide to take a dip in the water. The chlorinated water can  wreck your hair.

Home Remedies For Healthy Hair

Apply paste of amla in a cup of milk to boost hair growth.

Boil Hibiscus flowers in coconut oil and filter the oil. Apply regularly.

Soak a spoon of fenugreek seeds in a cup of curd overnight and apply the paste the next morning.

Henna is a natural and effective conditioner for hair. But do check your body type before you use it.

Washing hair with tea powder twice a week is also known to strengthen hair.
