What are the other options for a Software Engineer Mom??

    Hi All

    I was just thinking of the other career options that are available for an IT mom.Ofcourse that could earn 50-60K per month, doesnt involve too much time out of home(like that of IT) and I could take care of my kid as well without putting her in daycare for a long time.

    As few of you might be aware,I have interests in Art and Crafts as well

    IT definetely as many would agree is a tedious job and I am working in IT for the past 8 years..So just thinking if there are any other options of career that would suit me and could help in earning 50-60 K per month

    PN::The technology which I am trained/working is such that I cannot opt for WFH jobs which are available online...So that is ruled out.

    I cannot start any business that would require huge investments as I have big financial commitments.

    Even i am in same boat.I have 10 yrs exp in IT and i feel like changing over to something else.Planning to do Mtech on weekends and then try a lecturer job somewhere.Might not be paying as in IT,but would be a cool job...No installs in nights and no fixing bugs on weekends :)

    Online Teaching is growing business. Skype + video + your knowledge can make you to work.

    Part time teaching in good institutes like CDAC, APTECH also good option.

    teaching is definetely a good career for ladies IMO
    but yeah I am looking for Good pay as well :bonk

    In my opinion only it is not realistic that we could stay home and still earn 50- 60 k .

    work from jobs in It are also not get many .
    the only option I see if you can have a home seed business then may be but what business is also a question

    You people can take up part time teaching jobs, which will not take up much of your time. But you cannot expect that much income from that.

    Other side is, if you are good at maths, try starting a tuition centre exclusively for X to XII standards. Investment is much less and income will be around your expectation.
