Apply for EAD - Efiling - Suggestions Please !!!

Hi ILites,
I have moved to US recently. I have L2 Visa. I have 8 yrs of exp in India and would want to work in US for which I need to apply for EAD. Gone thru couple of sites like USCIS.. Just want to check if anyone has applied for EAD online (Efile) recenly. Would recommend some valuable suggestions from those guys.... Do we need to send any docs by post to USCIS after Efiling EAD.
Cheers,
Apharna

Hello,
I think it is better to apply manually because you need to send your photograph, check and other documents.
Even if you file online, they are not going to start the process until you furnish other documents. It is always better to send everything in a package at same time.
We didn't file online, we just took the application form and applied manually.

Hi,

You can do online very easily. Submit your application online. Then send the following docs by post to your USCIS center.

1. You / your spouse passport Copies with I 94s
2. Copy of petition paper
3 . Copy of online application

Within 2 weeks, you will be called for finger prints

Within 2.5 months, you should be getting EAD if there is no problem with your case.

Thanks!

Shobhana & Punitha,
THanks much for your response... It was very informative.

Shobana,
Good to know that you are in Connecticut.. I was there in Manchester 4 yrs back and its a lovely place.

Regarding your response, we shouldnt submit a copy of online application.. Guess, we need to submit the confirmation receipt of the application which we submit online.

Also please confirm if we need to submit any other docs apart from I-765.

I went thru this site today
Employment authorization document - EAD, work permit to work in the United States

This would be helpful for those who wish to apply for EAD...

Thanks all,
Apharna
