hi vmur(vidya),

Thanks for opening this thread!!

I dont know how to express my shock. Im very upset since morning after hearing the news abt demise of great writer sujatha and thinking to open this condolence thread.
I like his youthful writing, im still thinking about his great contributions to tamil fiction.

when computer, internet and all was introduced he created a lot of awareness to common public through his writing in vikatan kind of magazines. I used to feel proud that there is a famous writer in my name.

During my school college days I used to read his serials in magazines and we frnds enjoy discussing about the story trend

I wish litrary associations confer "Sujatha award" for those who create awareness about Science and technology in fiction world.

His demise is a great loss for tamilnadu
may god give comfort to his family to get back to normal life sooner
may his soul rest in peace!!!

Dear Vidya
Every one who knows Tamil will mourn the death of one of the most prolific and versatile writers of Tamilnadu, Sujatha. I have heard Kamal Hassan often repeating that no actor in India can claim that he had never been influenced by the veteran actor Sivaji Ganesan. Likewise, every young writer who started writing after Sujatha made his entry into the literary world would certainly bear his influence on his writing. His style of writing clearly marks a new era in Tamil Literature. I have no doubt that posterity will record the happenings in Tamil Literary world as pre-Sujatha and post-Sujatha periods.
In spite of his Himalayan achievements, he remained very modest till the end. His utter humility is something that will be remembered more than his writings. Amazing was the way he bore his sickness and the way he could talk about it with a subtle humour.
May his great soul rest in peace.
Sri

Dear all,

Demise of Sujatha is a sad & shocking news . Even though I have not read much of his works. I have seen the movies, in which he has written screenplay & dialogues.Of all the works in the movies “Roja” is an out standing one!

And I came to know from the TV news that he & Dr. Abdul Kalam are college mate -Saint Joseph College Tiruchi. It must be really a sad news to his relatives, friends, fans, book lovers, & especially to the people of Tiruchi.

May his soul rest in peace.

I am also deeply moved by Sujatha's demise. I used to read his serials in Ananda vikatan and other Tamil magazines ardently and enjoy them. He style is a flowing one and his easy way of mixing Tamil and English words in his writings started a new style of writing in Tamil. His Srirangathu Devathaigal is a wonderful narration. My husband, a native of Srirangam used to recall how Sujatha was involved in all the things about which he wrote in his work mentioned above. It is a great loss to the Tamil writers' forum. May his soul rest in peace! and my heart-felt condolences to his family on this sad occasion.

Very timely thread !!!

I am a ardent fan of Sujatha's Ganesh-Vasanth series and Katrathum-petrathum series. His knowledge ranges from Vaishnavaite hymns to JAVA prgramming, both in breadth and depth. Unmatched intellect !!!

May his soul rest inpeace !!
