    Hi all,

    I'm new to Indusladies site. My Kids are interested in music. I wish them to learn carnatic music. I'm looking for Carnatic music teachers nearby Chembur/Ghatkopar/Kurla. Someone can help to find it?

    The Fine Arts Society at Chembur, is a great option, if it is convenient for you to travel. You have multiple teachers visiting on different days of the week, so you can choose time/day slots as per your convenience... :)

    Chembur has lot many options, I can provide you with details. Are you closer to Chembur or Ghatkopar or Kurla? where exactly are you based?

    And in Carnatic, what exactly you are planning to enroll the kids into... ? as in... Vocal, or instrumental? Do write back, so that I can provide you the details accordingly! Good Luck & God Bless!

    You can try Saraswati Vidyalaya or Sringeri Mutt in Chembur.

    R u in chembur?Do u need a pvt teacher.If so u can go to Mrs.Jayalakshmi subrahmaniam in chembur.She is a very experienced teacher.u can try.If interested i can give u the details.btw r ur kids wants to learn fm the beginning or alrdy learning?

    @ JN: Nice to see someone from Chhedanagar here! I'm from that area too. Lived for 25 years there, before shifting to another place.

    There are few ladies teaching Carnatic music at their homes, in Chhedanagar. You can get started with one of them, depending on your convenience. You may mail me for further details, and I can let you know the contacts of the Maamis who teach there! Good Luck! :)

    @ Roopa: T.N.Rajam Mami (sister of T.N.Krishnan, and herself an acclaimed violinist) resides in Lokpuram, Thane. She and her daughter Sangeetha, are violinists. Though they specialise in Hindustani violin, both are adept at Carnatic as well.

    You can also contact the Samajam office at Vrindavan Society in Thane, who would be able to provide more details. :)

    Thank you so much for the help. Lokpuram is quiet near by to where I stay I will surely get in touch with them. Currently I am looking for a job here so I would prefer a Weekend class lets see. I am glad that there are tamilians here. feel so out of place..
