Did you know these days ‘Mongli’ comes on Pogo? Hmmm…gew days back I was surfing the net when ‘Mongli’ caught my attention. It was one of the cartoons which I grew up watching and how I loved it. In fact when I was kid so few cartoons were aired on TV and mostly came on Sundays. I along with my brothers and sisters would sit on the sofa and start our Sunday with ‘Rangoli’ then little bit of studies and again getting glued to TV watching cartoons. I am sure many of you have grown up watching the Doordarshan programs just like me. Sometimes I used to think wish there were two Sundays. Hmmm...not only ‘Mowgli’ there were other programs as well which were eagerly waited to watch…
I wanna know what is or was your favorite old Doordarshan programs…

Good post, I must say…true Doordharshan was our only life line during those days. I loved watch Rangoli every Sunday morning and Chitrahaar every Wednesday. On Sundays, my cousins and brother and I jostled in the sofa to watch Rangooli and on Wednesdays, everyone in my house from uncles, aunts, father, mother, grandmother except grandfather, gathered for Chitrahaar. There was Mahabharat too when the streets became empty.
Hello Beauties, I remember watching ‘Superhit Muquabla’ every Sunday night after ‘Shri Krishna’. I also used to watch another game show, it was my favorite, and its name was ‘Jaldi Jaldi’. Then there was a serial called ‘Zabaan Samhal Ke’. It was a program where a teacher played by Pankaaj Kapur, used to teach Hindi to a group of students who had different mother tongues. It was really fun to watch that program. i loved watching these three programs

Hey Girls, I can give a huge list of Doordarshan porgams that I used to see. The list is as follows: Ramayan Mahabharat Sri Krishna Chandrakanta Circus Surag the clue Shanti Yug Hum Log Swabhiman Chitrahar Superhit Muquabla Nupur Janani Moongli Malgudi Days Abar Jokher Dhon Bibaho Obhijan Whos gonna beat this list??? lol!!!! Anyways my favorite would be Circus, Abar Jokher Dhon, Bibaho Obhijan Bye, Chandrima

To Chadrima, you have mentioned really a huge list of DD programs. You really watched all of these? Anyways, I remember watching ‘Bibaho Abhijan’ and ‘Abar Jokher Dhon’. I really liked watching these two serials. Besides, there was Superhit Muquabla , Chitrahar Malgudi Days as well.
We were not allowed to watch this ‘Swabhiman’ serial, it was considered to be an adult serial during that time.

Hmm.. it is really hard for me to pin point the programs which were fav in Doordarshan.We really loved most of the pgms which were telecasted....Mougli,Lion king, Sreekrishna,Mahabarath,Jai hanuman,om namashivaya,chitrahar,chitrageethanm,rangoli....an d so on.
what I loved most was that during those days watching TV was a family business, when a program starts everyone will be present in the hall.Even if dad/mom is not watching the program they will be there with a book or something.So it was also a family time Oh!! I miss those days.

I am so happy to see all your posts. Tell you something, I had forgotten the names of many serials, you all have made me remember it again. To Chandrima, how did you manage to watch all these? I cannot really remember whether Lion King was aired or not. Anyways, you have said right Ami, it was a family time.
Yeah lion king was aired in DD and it was one of our fav programs...I remember it was on sundays

Hey Everyone, Interesting topic, I remember faintly what I watched on DD, more because, I watched whatever that came on DD that time. Lol!!! I don’t remember ‘Kachhi Dhoop’ , ‘Yeh jo hain zindegi’, ‘Surag the clue’ and ‘Nupur’. Anyways, I used to be a ‘poka’ of ‘Bibaho Abhijan’ and ‘Abar Jokher Dhon’. I think that they should air these two programs again on TV. By the way, can anyone tell me whether ‘Tenali Rama’ was aired on DD or not. I don’t remember a bit. Love, Bidisha
