Is West Bengal Technical University Approved By UGC?

Hello pals,
My brother recently took admission in a private engineering college; it is under West Bengal Technical University. But I have no idea if it is approved by UGC or not. Does anyone of you have any idea whether WBTU is approved by UGC or not?

Hi Bhaswati, I think West Bengal Technical University is not UGC granted. This is what I found in their website

"Currently, the University is functioning through an Advisory Committee constituted by the Chancellor under the advice of the Government of West Bengal, as per necessary transitory provisions of the Act."
