New Face of Bengali Movies

Hello Everyone,
How are you all? This thread is about the present day Bengali films.

What do you feel about today’s Bengali films?

I am definitely not talking about the hard-core commercial Bengali movies, ornamented mostly with heavy-weight dialogues (which actually turn out to be funny, and the so-called funny dialogues make you cry!!!), heavy doses of melodrama and mostly neatly copied from their Bollywood counterpart.

I am talking about parallel movies from Anjan Dutta, Rituporno Ghosh etc. which in the coming days will be the new face of Bengali cinema, I suppose. Do you agree with me???

dunno whether, the parallel movies from Anjan Dutta, Rituparno Ghosh and others is the new face of Bengali films or not, but I like watching them.

The last one I saw was by Anjan Dutta, at this moment I am unable to recall the name, anyways, it is so unlike the Bengali movies we have seen so far, a bit like ‘Rock on’ though, but over all good.

The movies representing the modern Bengali household seem to pretty good for me, of course if it is well directed. Though the Bengali films are changing, I feel that they cannot be another golden era of Bengali cinema.

Hmmm…anyone anymore with anymore opinions???
