Who handles savings/investments...-Poll for Sep 25th to Oct 1st, 2005

Hi Ladies,

We thought of dealing this week's poll about finances at our homes. I'm sure most of us are interested in saving/investing for our future, the future of kids, etc. Though lots of spending become unavoidable, we strive to save/invest for risk-free future and peaceful retirment.

Let take this poll to cast our votes about who handles savings/investments required at our homes.

Feel free to share your opinions like who handles it in your home, why one person is handling it or why it is good to be a joint decision, etc. Sharing your opinions will help each other in this community to handle finances better at our homes.

I do spend (but I think I do it wisely!) and I am not very knowledgeable in deciding about savings/investments.

My husband is investments savvy - for that matter he is very good in numbers and calculations. I call him my human calculator, really!

Hi,

I was spending a lot on shopping and others, when i didn't have a kid.....Now, after a kid, i don't at all feel like spending unnecessarily.....I feel like saving more and more for her. My hubby spends a lot, so, i don't rely my hubby in this matter. I do my savings myself.................I'm myself, surprised by this drastic change within me......May be, this is called as RESPONSIBILITY................

Hi,

Though i am not an earner, my husband involves me in all financial decisions. We together decide on investments and savings and also take practical help from our in-laws who are obviously more experienced in money matters than we are. Our spending decisions are also always done with mutual consultation. Like lakshmi said after kids are born we tend to realise our responsibilites more.

I take care of paying all the bills - utilities, loans, credit card, etc.

So I know what is left (not much though

). Hence, I take care of savings too.

Major decisions are taken by me as well ans husband
but other than that minor savings, I take care
