Default This is a Must in My List!!

Friends,

We woman are habitual shoppers and have a pattern which we unknowingly follow. Let me take you to the vegetable market lovingly called as SABZI MANDI here in Mumbai. Gosh!! No more markets, it is mall my friends, gone are those days where we used to smash a already smashed tomato or smell a lovely coriander leaves bunch fallen on the way collecting dust. Irrespective of the vegetable in stock or nil, we sometimes do pick up certain of them without fail. Either coz they are our favourites or coz it is a must in our pattern of cooking. I am listing a few out here, come forward and vote.

Hi Malspie,

Lovely, Yummy & aromatic poll !

Whenever, I go for veggie shopping, I tend to pick all the items that you mentioned above. Since we are vegetarians, I use lots of veggies in my cooking. I do make a lot of South indian, North indian, American & Italian dishes too...so veggies form an integral part of whatever I make.

Even for making a simple sandwich for my kids, i use a tomatoes, cucumber, mint chutney dips, salad pack etc. Grilled sandwich is always a favorite..again loaded with veggies !!

Let me not ramble off now..and come to the point..my vote goes for all the items & others too like papads, pickles, spices, small onions, garlic, curryleaves, coriander, spinach etc. Lemons/limes are mandatory too !

Hi Mals,

As said .... i have voted for all, whenever i got to a Market i pick up all those items first and then would look out for any other special vegies for the season like Mango, jackfruit or Banana Flower or stem.

Hey i guess u also missed out on our lovely Curry Patha, without which its really painful for me to Cook. i m so used to curry patha, but then after comming to US i have become very Kanjoos... in using these leaves as its little costlier than compared to Mumbai where i used to get it Complimentary for buying veges.... and let me tell u i used to feel on "Top of the World"...(now don't ask me why....).

Keep comming Dear..

Cheers
vaidehi

Oh Krithika,

Another one in your list to eat all those lovely sandwiches. I can live on them forever and ever. Yes, I did miss CUCUMBER, even though that is the first one that comes jumping in to my bag.

Happy Sabzi Shopping.
