Which is your favorite travel destination for summer holidays?

With the schools closed for the children in this part of the world, travel plan is the much talked about in almost every household. Are you all packing your bags for summer holidays? If so let us know which is your favorite summer destination.
It might be good old times when we used to pack our bags to patti's place as soon as the summer holidays start. Can we confidently say that it is the same for our kids too. Or are they busy taking the summer camp routines?
Is there any plan to visit any exotic tourist destinations for the summer? Are you escaping the heat by visiting a hill station? Are you taking up adventure sports in a tourist destination?

I finished my winter vacation(for a change) recently in us.I am also very much interested to see what our ils say..

I would love to go to mah granny's place cause i can catch up with all my cousins, aunts & uncles whom we cant see frequently.. And its only in summer yearly once we keep gathering... can relax atleast for few days and also stress buster for many of us...!!

Its all fun around to be one among so many ppl and the house will be fully packed..... can have noisy environment and can sleep in open air in terrace sharing jokes, stories and much more....

All Seasons, all day, all time, my favourite destination is GOA. I cannot enjoy anywhere more than this place. You can be at ease all by yourself with no one to ogle at you. A great place to holiday. I visit this place at least thrice a year.

I voted for the 4th option.

It is not only one with regard to me. I love being everywhere. I like everything under the Sun; ranging from a mattu vandi travel in the village to flights. Including the first three I want to do some small things with family. I'm always behind family; sitting, walking, watching a movie, surfing with my DH, anything with family .....it goes.

Good topic. I voted for the first one but i would actually mean parents & in laws cos i live abroad.

In addition to it I would like to visit temples in different places. My MIL has very good knowledge about various temples in south India. She plans so precisely that we don't repeat our visits to the same temples except for important ones like the family gods. She usually takes the info from magazines mainly meant for temples and from the internet.

Hello. Topical thread, I shd say. I've done all of the above but fell in love with Munnar in Kerala. Beautiful, serene, pleasant with rambling walks, quiet tea county, with small waterfalls thrown in for sheer fun. It so scenic and tranquil, ideal place to unwind and relax and let the day flow by.

this is the talk of the season..my vote is for grandmas or relatives place as the child gets to move with our relatives and grandparents better than usual days....this creates a strong bonding and the children n the elders are happy this way..

When I was small every summer for vacation we use to go to granny's house as all my cousins ,aunts and uncles use to come there. We use to have lot of fun there playing lot of games,seeing movies and sleeping in open air in terrace sharing jokes, stories and much more....
