Hey Mals,

Again a very colourful topic. well I have cast my vote for the chemical free colour. Anyway whatever precautions you take you are bound to be gulaaled, painted, watered ,balloonned, bhaanged etc... So ....
Here the celebrations have already begun....... .

Heres Wishing a very Happy Holi to all of you!!

Srini,

Gulal is a powder generally applied or rather smeared on each on Holi. Its a very bright pink in colour.

Regards,

Devika

I wish all of you a Happy Holi!

Apart from playing with colours, what all the other rituals you perform during Holi? Can anybody enlighten me?

Hi Malu darling,
Since my childhood days, I disliked this only festival because it used to spoil my face/dress and all the above my clean house.........those were the days, when people used more chemicals due to little awareness......but as time has changed, I am seeing the use of chemical free colors......and several other items to protect hair etc........
But after coming to USA, I have started missing this colorful festival......now, I don't mind a little messy face/home but the constant visit of frds/relatives (totally absent here as Holi is on a weekday)......
I had missed the last two holis and sure will be missing this one too......

Regards

Dear All,

Thanks for casting your votes for chemical free colours. Here, In Mumbai, even the educated ones still go for colours with chemicals...

Post Re: HOLI - Festival of Colours

Hi Mals...

Another good poll from you
Well....I haven't celebrated Holi as a child since I grew up in interior TN; but used to enjoy others playing while I was in college hostel though.... Even now, I don't play Holi and probably it has rubbed on to my sons as well.... they just "run" away from colours..... Hope they would enjoy it when they grow up....

But, yes, I would opt for natural colours / organic ones and not the ones with any chemicals in it....

Cheers!
