What style of music do you like best?

Hello ILites,

This week poll topic is keeping in trend with the December music season happening in Chennai.
But I want to generalize the topic for all the Ilites from all over India - North, South, East and West so that our community gives platform for all the Indian Ladies.
Here I go with the poll topic.
Sure is there a soul who does not like music at all? I believe such a person is a rarity. Also we do have our preferences when listening to music. For some it has to be divine Carnatic / Hindustani traditional music. Some wants to shake their legs to Disco / Salsa / Hip-Hop. Still some of us like the folk number. There must be ILites who prefer any kind of music. It is just their chill out quotient.

I like all kinds of music, as long as it does not pain my ears. I am not much into the hard rock. I enjoy the music best when I can understand it.

my mind is tuned to only melodies and classical. fast beats never attracts me. melody is found in all type of music - classical, folk, bajans etc.

Well this was a good question.I have voted for Disco because I like fast numbers.But waht I meant is I like that type of music which refreshes me and takes away my tension and boredom.

Thank u IL for making me to share my views.As Laxmi mam said, No soul would be there in the world who dislike music. I like all type of music.I feel more enjoyed to find out the raags and krithis in carnatic music.Also to play the same in veena or flute. In other western and folk I love to find out the lyric as well as to tune the music in key board. I love to hear and sing bajans,slokas which no doubt makes us to sit in a place for hours and make us think about our creator.

Even i like all types of music,but still my vote goes to Folk numbers........I always like fast beats.........which make me to dance.amnd forgfet my tension.......and no doubt, it will refresh me.......

I like carnatic and Hindusthani, especially bajans. I can't tolerate blaring orchestra. Though language is not important for music, I feel if we understand the language it will be soul stirring.

Its a very nice topic. I love all types of music, but my first choice is carnatic music. I am enjoying margazhi mahotsavam on Jaya TV daily. Its really a gift for people who are unable to go to the sabhas for katcheri. I also love melodies in films, whether old or new.
