(But a person with , especially spiritual pride, the pride of having been born in a superior class, has absolutely no hopes of salvation. He is condemned to live a life of misery till he realises in the depths of his heart, that before God and love, all are the same. )- Golden words, sir. My salute for you.

This story is a nice piece of history with a wonderful moral. Great men always have great minds and practise what they are preaching. There are same kind of stories with Adi Shankara that he sang the sloka " maa nishada" after meeting a chandala . and also in Arutperum jothi Vallalar's life , all trying to teach people to treat everybody equal as god's children ( Gandhiji's Hari-jans) and Bharathiyar writing Jaathigal illaiyadi papa . But even then, the people who make statues for them and put garland for them, dont follow what they told . That is very sad.

Even in this story, the seedargal who living with the great sage itself were small minded even after seeing and hearing him every day so what use being desiples. Anyway after this lesson they got rid of pride and learned to respect all humans i think.

This Acharya lived in 11th. or 12th. century ( correct ,no ?) but "inferior born" people were not allowed to enter house of god temples even till 20th. century even in temples where the same sages idols are worshipped. That is very sad .

I was also very sad to read in The Hindu about the Uthapuram wall that higher caste people build to separate from lower caste people. News padicchathum rattham kothicchiricchu ayya. When will we all be people of same family, brothers and sisters ? When will we stop printing Forms asking " caste ", "religion" and all ? We are still sinning .Very disgusted sir.

Azhagiya nadaiyil ezhuthappatta uyariya bothanaiyulla sarithira kathai. Nanri.

Dear Sridhar,

Took a breather this Am from all the mundane work and started reading this new serial story. Now I have to say, the setting was such here, dawn breaking out over the hills surrounding my home, the sun just stretching and yawning, making a slow appearance, cool fresh breeze blowing ,and a few birds chirping the arrival of new day. And reading your story in such a setting was a truly spiritual and sublime experience for me. I had tears of joy streaming down. I have to say Sridhar, that the past few weeks have been so chaotic and tense for me,now after reading the 3 episodes,my mind is at ease, and i know that all will go smoothly for me.

Sri Ramanuja is a favorite saint of mine, and waiting to read the serial eagerly. Will definitely login to read this. No matter how pressed for time Iam going to be.

Thanks Sridhar, you gave me a much needed reassurance through this story during this critical period .

Dear Sridhar,
It feels so good to read about the Great Saint. The unintentional love is something people should learn and display. The story has brought in tears of joy and wisdom. You have penned it so beautifully well.(Should i have to say this?) The divinity is sensed in each and every action of the acharya.
We are all blessed to read about the acharya.

Dear Sridhar,

as I read this story this morning after waking up, you have brought the setting of the ashram, the great acharya, the ignorant disciples and the wonderful couple Villi and Ponnachi in front of my eyes.
I was very moved by the following lines:

Even a hardened sinner, a person who has killed people and raped women, has some hopes. But a person with pride, especially spiritual pride, the pride of having been born in a superior class, has absolutely no hopes of salvation. He is condemned to live a life of misery till he realises in the depths of his heart, that before God and love, all are the same. Ramanujar did not want that misery for his other disciples.

Unless the weeds of pride, ego, jealousy, anger and other negatives are removed from disciples' minds, a Guru knows that love cannot blossom in their hearts.Mysterious are the Guru's ways to accomplish that.

Dear Sridhar,
The waiting was not long, thanks for that! So this is why Ramanujar made Villi and Ponnachi his disciples! He knew with all that LOVE they had, they will be selfless and devoted disciples. Wow, mysterious are the ways of God and how he has made the Great Acharya bring this to the world!
Very neat narration , liked the explanation given by Guruji to disciples ....
"Even River Cauvery cannot clean me completely. But this man’s touch can purify me. That’s why I lean on him when I return from the river."

Happy to read the whole story, from where to where? And what a LOVE story!

Dear Sridhar,

Before leaving for US from Chennai I was planning in my mind that I should learn about AZHWARS especially Ramanuja Acharyal. What a great surprise , when I decided to open up your pages to know what you have written lately, it is about the Great Saint. I was thrilled to go through the three part writing. I am reminded about the Shakespear's words! "The quality of mercy is twice blesseth; it blesses him that gives and him that takes" God has blessed me for giving what I wanted and blessed you for giving it to me in a touching manner..Millions of Thanks
Gopalan

Dear Varalotti,

That is real great... Enjoyed reading that....

I am more than happy to note that Villi & Ponnachi lived together... The love of Villi & Ponnachi, the way you had explained made me to read further... The earlier part of the story made me to think, that Acharyal has made Villi to take sanyasam... That is the reason for me to quote that two movies...

Thanks for reading my post and replying it with patience and appropriate examples....

The devotion of Ponnachi to give away her jewellery for the sake of the Mutt... That needs a big heart... Villi & Ponnachi graciously coming and giving the other half of the jewellery... I have no words to speak other than just wipe my wet eyes...

Great...

Veda
