| Dear Sridhar, My reply was not complete, you know. There I was enjoying a leisurely walk with you down vnstreet, but my MIL had to have her coffee, the maid had to ask her doubt, somebody found only that minute the opprtune moment to ring the bell. What could I do.The cat is away my friend and the mouse found it convenient to do whatever it liked for the past two days. Not that the cat would have answered the calling bell,it would have screeched at me. cat-Lakshiminarayanan mouse-mythili sunkan said, some women see father figure intheir hubbies.Well I see a grand father figure. We are opposite poles. He is a very organised person. While we are packing things to shift our house and the house is at an utter disarray I am capable of browsing thro' my 67 college autograph book and ask my husband his opinion abt a particular comment from a friend and earn his wrath.May be thats why we are attracted to each other. Sorry to diagress. I have to share this incident with you. Once five yrs back,we were travelling to Madurai.Three young men were travelling with us Madurai being their native place. My husband started the conversation,"Madurai is a very hot place,no?" Immediately they started ,"Yes,sir. It is not only a hot place,it is also dusty"said one.The other said,"Sir it is a dirty place.People after eating throw the banana leaves in which they eat on the centre of the street. No civic sense"said he. We also joined in.We approached Madurai The train was passing chinna Madurai Suddenly there was an elctrifying atmosphere in the compartment.Somebody asked,"Will we get some tea in the station>?" "Why only tea?Madurai is one place where you get sponge like idlis 24 hrs ,do you know"asked one of the youngsters with pride in his voice. If the train had taken a few more seconds to stop at the junction, this young man would have jumped out of the train.such was his pleasure in seeing his native place,to put his feet on that soil.I could understand and appreciate. When I was young my mother once told me,"Do you know,Mother Meenakshi still rules over Madurai, thats why it is a speacial place?" I would sit in my SILS HOUSE VERANDAH in later years and visualise mother Meenakshi walking down the strreets of Madurai. Her anklets are making music, her bangles are singing, her silk saree is rustling, her ornaments are giving out a glow that illuminates the town, her long eyelashes are touching her cheeks and her glances are embracjng every living being in her queendom and that may be the reason,Maduraites have some charm some elegance (and honestly,my friend I am not flattering.)That is why this town is having a beauty of its own, unmached. Thanks for listening to me patiently. God bless you. Mythili |

| sridhar, sorry for the delay in joining you.... Thanks for taking us through your route..all these days...did we walk 3 miles..interesting.... The final round of our walk had a mixture of emotional, professional and also religious... to your Athi...as a human being.Usually we start anything with 'Pillayar suzhi' but you had ended our walk with that... maybe 'pillayar suzhi' is for starting something new in the future? don't forget to tell us, for your next walk.. sriniketan

| My Dear GFs, You have gifted me something very precious - your love and affection on my 50th birthday. Should I not make at least a small return gift? I have just made an attempt. In a few seconds from now you can click on the link Return Gift in my signature and find it out for yourselves. Please tell me whether you liked the gift or not. love, |

| Dear Mythili, That was a nostalgic, poetic piece of writing bearing the typical "Mythili Stamp" all over it. I enjoyed the lines. And I was so lost in enjoyment that I feel it is not up to me to make any line by line comment on your post. After all a sweet post like a sweet fruit is meant to be enjoyed without discussing which part of it is sweeter than the other, right? Now did you see what kind of return gift I have for all those who wished me on my b'day? If you have not, click the link return gift in my signature. The cat-mouse syndrome is quite universal. I am seeing it every where. My wife tells me that when I converse with my daughter and she fights with me, it looks like an interesting episode of Tom and Jerry. regards, Quote:

| Sriniketan, our walks like our friendship is timeless. You can join anytime. Yes, we walked close to 3 miles, some 4 plus kilometres. And we did it in 4 episodes. Anything that is nearing its end becomes emotional. And that was the case with the walk as well. I am and have been a devotee of Pillayar. For others Pillayar is the "muthar kadavul" but for me he is the "muzhu muthar kadavul" meaning that he is the beginning, middle and the end for me. Thanks for walking with me, regards, Quote:

| Dear Sridhar, I am happy I heard those wonderful words from you.My day is made. About the return gift you have given us all,I enjoyed the lyrics,I admire the way you express your thoughts, but I have to be honest with you,I dont want to hear those words from you.It hurts me,however right you are about life's journey and its end,I just dont want to hear them from you. After a very long time I have got a very good friend with whom I relate very well,I want to hear only good things like the garden of life and the mellifluous music, the birds chirping and you and Indu walking leisurely and enjoying the breeze. Regards Mythili |

| Dear Mythili, I am simply bowled over by your love. Yes, we are going to be friends for eternity. Don't worry. I wont go so soon. There is a difference between my stories and articles on the one hand, and the poetry on the other. I write the former; the latter happens. This poem was just a moment of inspiration that happened two weeks ago. When it happened I did not want to miss that out. When your blessings are there, I am going to live a hundred, and you a hundred and fifty. Dont worry. love, Quote:
