It was a nice write up I always enjoyed knowing more and more about you and here to a part of you has been put up. Thanking people who helped you I really apreciate this quality in you.

Thanks. Life is a marathon race Aruna. When you start running you have nothing but the finish line in your mind. But when you have completed more than three-fourths of the race and the finish line comes in the line of your sight, it loses its importance. That's the time you turn back and look at those people who helped you run. You look at your coach, your parents and your teachers. I am doing that now.

I really waited for a minute after reading about VSR.....
Prayers to VSR and Shakespeare for the soul to rest in peace........

When I finished writing that part, I cried for a whole minute.

have Crossed tvs stop so many times without knowing.now it would be a thrill to look at the stop and also the nehru pilayar koil.

Now that the stop is almost gone, very few maduraiites know the significance of having the TVS stop when the real TVS company is far away.
And what you said about the Advocates these days is true. But I think times are slowly changing. I have had the honour and privilege of moving with some of the finest advocates like Mr.Ramamani, Mr. Aravind Datthar and a few of my friends here in Madurai. These people are the rare combination of finest brains and the highest sense of values. But a majority of lawyers are without work though I think in the near future they should all be doing well thanks to the globalisation.

It is really great of you to always pay homage to him. My prayers for his soul to rest in peace.

And I used this walk to pay homage to my adoptive father.

About the walk felt sad that we are finishing it off. But all nice things come to an end and this also ended bit fastly than expected.

If things do not come to an end, then they will not be good. We feel the goodness and the happiness because we are sure that it would end soon. Our life will not be happy if we are allowed to live on for ever.
Once Actor Visu was asked, "Suppose you are given immortality "saaha varam" what will you do?"
He replied without even blinking his eyes, "Life without death is not a boon but a curse." (saahamaal iruppadhu varam alla saapam.)

These few lines really sums up about you. It was really very nice to know a great human being like you and to proclaim that I am your friend puts more feathers to my cap.

Before I start with my response you should listen to two things - one, my heartfelt apology for the really long and inordinate delay in responding to your post. And second, an attempted explanation for that.
While this post was still on, the Dinamalar story was published and I had to post some replies and explanations there. Added to that some writing commitments which were overdue.
I could have definitely squeezed a few minutes to scribble a reply to you. But I don't do such things and never have I done that. For me writing responses to the fb is even more precious than writing the leader post. I let the replies soak down my heart for a while before I respond.
That's the explanation. Of course ready to accept any punishment you may have in mind for the delay.

That was a stupendous write up !. Though all good things must come to an end ,I genuinely hope this walk doesnt have to!

thanks. I had already lengthened the walk mixing my personal stories with the scenes I saw. Four weeks is too long a time for a 4 km walk. So with a heavy heart, I had to end it at this time. But don't worry.
We can always go for a walk again. And who knows, may be , we can can have a better time. ha ha ha

Your 'Athi' was indeed a great man. You know Sir there is seldom enough love in this world for people to give to any one but their own kids , but for him to have loved you and reared you so wonderfully is very laudable and praiseworthy .

It was quite moving to read about your uncle, Mr.KPV Menon. I was amazed to see that we were in almost similar situation. Many a time, we do not know that people are showering on us, when it's happening. Only after their death do we feel that. At times it takes several years before we fully realise the value of the gift.

Many men are obsessed with cars. Though I don't have a passion for cars, I do love them. I am happy to learn about your husband's love for cars. Devika, I am going to go a little deeper in this matter. It's a liberty I am taking with you. Please forgive me if I'm wrong.

this is a very sensible statement. Now you what statement men would make about women's dresses?

Will any woman accept a statement about her dresses? No, she wont. The reason: dress ceased to be a mere protection from the weather long back. Now a woman's dress (or for that matter, a men's dress too is a personal statement.)
The same thing has happened to cars as well. A car is a poweful personal statement made by a man. Suppose I were to drive a fancy coloured sports car, my clients will not accept me as a professional.

I am sure you have loved every one to the best of your capacity and I am sure you will be truly reciprocated and thats what I wish for you!

Thats one of the kindest motherly blessings I have ever received. What more can I want in life? That's the greatest gift you have made to me. Will remember that for ever.

This again was a piece that would have made every ones eyes go wet. Yes, our walk through memory lane with you was an emotional one too. Even we got back to our child hood memories. But I wonder if we would have been able to reproduce our memories the way you did. It was a very rich tribute to your father. Especially the lines you quoted from Shakespeare while offering eulogy to your departed father shows how much influence he would have had on you to receive such a tribute.
