| One thing I understood from your post is you have compared all MILs and to be -MILs to a dinosaur( I hope it refers only to the longevity and not to its size! )truly said we must learn through expercience otherwise it is not good for us or for the people surrounding us. As Vandhana has pointed out, do we think that we are going to live that long to break the record of the dinosaurs? MILs-Dinosaurs-Ajith what a comparison! bringing all together under 'your roof'. Only you can do it Sridhar Sir! sriniketan |

| Yes, Vandhana, the purpose of putting dinosaurs, mils and Ajith together in the same sentence is just to 'have ILites there' at least for a while. As you put it rightly none of the three were out of the contex. You are very right. With the ice-melting, global warming and ozone depletion, I think, we'll let the dinosaurs beat us 25 times over in terms of longevity. And there are other accelerating forces like oil spills, CFC releases, nuclear arsenal and the like. I am happy to meet some rare specimens in this thread - dils who praise their mils. May you all be always blessed. I wanted to disagree at least with one statement of yours to make this thread interesting. But I have to confess my inability as my views of the new actors is almost the same, whether Tamil, Hindi or Hollywood. So what next? Now I have to sit and think hard. thanks Vandhana for the good response. regards, sridhar Last edited by varalotti; 18th September 2007 at 07:41 PM. |

| Thanks Sriniketan. I am restraining my instincts to comment on size. For I have seen mils (and at times even dils) larger than dinosaurs. And to be fair enough, I have seen the pictures of smaller dinosaurs too. As they say, Those who do not learn history are condemned to repeat it. The same is the case with experience. If we can work with mils in peace, may be we need not waste our energies in re-inventing the wheel. Thanks for the nice words, Sriniketan. regards, |

| Dear Sridhar sir, This is my first post to you. well, I've not read any of your previous articles...but this title literally dragged me to read... what is this person writing about? connecting amavasi & abdul rahim!? It is a well knitted write-up. one thing is clear...in this era of globalization everything is inter connected & all beings have few shades in common! And your article proves it! I agree with many of ur views, experience does makes a difference in our lives. well, now I'm a human ( D-L)...just reading, analyzing & doing a research about dinosaurs (ML) that can help me to survive better! And yes, during my college days...I liked to watch Ajit movies, the handsome guy who stole our hearts with his smart features but now (times are changing), I pick, choose, read reviews before watching any movie as it is a waste of time! But I strongly feel, we ' humans' are busy in judging people & have no time to love them ...do you agree?

| Wonderful write-up. The spice (MIL) added here is very effective. Enjoyed reading about real and human dino's. In one post, you made all the three (the MIL, dino's and the actor) a center point. A 3-in-1 article. That is Varalotti's style Hats off to you! regards, Sindhu

| Hi Sridhar, Really a very Interesting Post!! Was wondering wats the title all about, but read your reply to Vandhana.. So.. to make us to be ther......... The Thoughts that you have shared is absolutely right.DIL's cant replace MIL's but can be a shadow them and take the family towards prosperity. But in case of a Bad MIL's, we can still learn that how not to lead the family and make things better, just like what you have mentioned -How the dinosaurs became extint!! Definitely Dinosaurs and MIL's are a great comparison! Very Thought Provoking Post to read on the start of my day! |

| I was waiting to read lesson no: 4 - you did not disappoint again. It is amazing how you can take an normal outing to a museum into a life lesson. The place that I felt very similar to what you stated is when we visited the Grand Canyon. I felt that our presence in this earth was a small speck compared to the grandeur of the canyon. When you realize that it took millions of years for canyon to be formed and we stood on top and look down - it is an indescriable feeling that overcomes you. You feel as if your lifetime on earth is as quick as the blink of an eye when compared to what you see in front on you. It is a humbling experience. If you have the time and if your schedule permits you, I hope you will be able to visit it |

| Dear Anu Shiv, I am very happy with this post of mine because it has made you to read and write in my thread. For me it is mission accomplished. Every thing is inter-connected. Highest spiritual treatises pronounce that it is very difficult to know say where we end and where the non-we start. Bharatiyar said "Nokkum idam ellam nam anri verillai" . Wherever we see, we find only ourselves. Thanks for agreeing with my views. I was also an Ajith fan back in the 90s. But now his movies have become horrible. But I strongly feel, we ' humans' are busy in judging people & have no time to love them ...do you agree? This is really a profound statement. Well, I do agree. But let me make my point clear. With this kind of comparison (dinosaurs and mils) I want to temper the sharp judgment powers of our dils. Whatever may be the defects of the mils, they have lived a full life, have brought up their children and have stayed longer in this hostile world. When a dil knows all these in her heart, she judges her mil less and loves her more. Thanks for your very first post in my forum. Looking forward to receiving many more posts from you. regards, sridhar |
