Good counselling. Especially for children taking the final exams, which are approaching fast. It is so heartbreaking to see news of youngsters jumping into wells or drinking rat poison just becos. they failed an exam. Such distressing news appear without fail every year. Instead of comforting the child and helping him/her cope with the terrors of exams, some parents , with their relentless slave driving in the name of competition, merely add to their misery. This article should first be read by such parents. VS

Advising parents not to impose themselves on their children especially when it comes to Plus Two Marks has almost become my mission in life. I have talked to severa schools, on several forums about this. I collected the gist of what I talked and made out an Article for DH which was published in their Education Section. Then I translated that for the book. Even while taking food at the local Music Academy (in Madurai it is called Samajam) I saw my friends wife and daughter. The latter was doing Plus two. I told the mother, not to insist on any marks. Plus two marks are irrelevant in the whole scheme of life. Thanks VS for the kind reply. regards, sridhar

Dear Kamla, Thanks for the nice words. I have been giving that kind of advice to all the students and their parents for the past several years. And that article which is a chapter in Vetriyin Vidhaigal is the distilled form of my speech. Thanks for your nice words, and sorry for the delay in response. regards, sridhar

Dear Mr. Sridhar Sir, I am new to Induslady. Just joined last month. Read ” Vetriyin vidhaikal.” Was really good. Infact , very good counselling for parents too. Read ‘is this love’ which was published long back. It was touching. searching for words to praise. Were can I get your books in Meenakshirajan
| ||||
Dear Mrs Meenakshi Rajan, Thanks for the words of praise. Higginbothams Bangalore should have those books. The best bet is to send a DD to the publisher and get the books by post. The delivery charges will be minimal. The publishers' address is: Kavitha Publications #8,Masilamani Street, T.Nagar, Chennai 600 017. Phone : 044 24364243 You may call them up and find out if they had supplied the books to any book stores in Bangalore. If not you may ask their terms for postage/courier and send the payment to them. Thanks once again, regards, sridhar
