Dear Friends,
Ever since I indexed Cheeniya’s Senile Ramblings, I had been wanting to index Varalott’s writings. Little did I realise that it was a mammoth job. I got his permission first and started. I saw that his threads ran into 11 pages !
It was time consuming; but I thoroughly enjoyed doing the same. His range is unbeatable and IL is blessed to have writers like Cheeniya & Varalotti, who are unique with their totally different styles of narration.
I do hope you will not miss out on any of their postings.
That is my main idea in creating the index for the Two IL Stalwarts’ Forums.
I am sure you will enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed indexing them.
Happy reading, Friends.
Love,
Chithra.

Dear Chithra,

I have been dealing with words all my life. Whether drafting an appeal to the Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals), or negotiating with a hard-nosed client, giving instructions to my assistants to do a complex job, writing a report, writing a story, translating a work, it's always words, words and words.

But all the words I know now refuse to come to my help when I want to say something about the marvellous job you have done. These words who have been loyal friends for very long years have all of a sudden deserted me. And I am standing helpless, rather wordless before you when I want to thank you for this stupendous task.

Hindu Religion is indebted to Veda Vyasar (Vysar, now lift your collars. You told me that you have been named in his honour) in ways more than one. But to me and to many knowing Hindus, the greatest thing he did was the compilation of Vedas, the very basis of our religion. It was he who categorized them into four - Rig, Yajur, Sama and Atharva.

Though my work here in IL is no way near the Vedas, your work in indexing them and providing links to all of them in one place, is a work no less than that of Veda Vyasa. You will be remembered for this work.

You know Chithra, even I had forgotten about some of the threads I have created. Like the lessons on beauty, recipes, the Ashta Lakshmis....It was a kind of malarum ninaivukal for me to clink the
link and read what I wrote some two, three years ago.

I can say : 1) Thanks Chitra 2) Marvellous, You have done a great job 3) Excellent 4) Fantastic 5) Fabulous.....I can go on saying these things till I run out of qualifiers. But none of the statements would come a mile near the work done by you.

May you and yours be always blessed.
Love,

Oh wow Chithra.........

I can imagine Varalotti being dumbstruck at this amazing task of yours and the pains you have taken to index his very impressive repertoire......But.....
....How do I explain my being dumbstruck at this awesome indexing of your's?
I don't know what I am more impressed with...your thorough indexing and the abilities you have to do so ...or...the amazing amount of contributions that Varalotti has offered Indusladies.
Chithra, I simply loved the way you have separated his various threads and given very fitting titles to every group.
May sound strange, but I enjoyed your interesting way of indexing!

Dear Sridhar,
My answer to you is the same that I gave Cheeniya:
Ramarukku aNil Sevai !
Thanks, I feel flattered - humility, where are you hiding?
Love,
Chithra.

Dear Kamla,
Your pat on my back means a lot to me because, you are as much Varalotti's fan as I am !
I did not plan it this way - but posts, I should say, fell into their own slots!

Oh Kamla,

Just now I was writing a pm to you to bring to your attention, this index thread and Chithra's great work. But your reply is there in the thread when I visited. As usual you always beat others!

Writers, painters and artists are like children. They belong to the place where they are pampered and give themselves to them.

I am the pampered child of IL. Enjoying the affection of thousands of good, graceful, wonderful, beautiful women would have inspired a wonderful mind to create epics like Iliad, Ramayan, etc.

Varalotti being Varalotti, could do only this much.

I was so overwhelmed when I wrote the acknowledgment to Chithra that I failed to mention the catchy headings. The threads are well grouped and neatly arranged. Chithra has done the work of God. Fod did He not created the world out of chaos?
