    Hi,

I am traveling to meerut for some work and will have to stay there for a week.
Are there any good places to hang out in meerut and what is the must do and must have list of this city?

Thought to spending my free time in exploring the area and taking the best of this area.

    Any suggestions?

    Hey,

There are quite a few places to see in Meerut...The must see are the TANK (Tank is an Indian War Memorial Monument constructed to honor the Indian Army for their victory over Pakistan in the Indo-Pak War of 1971.), Jama Masjid (The Jama Masjid in Meerut was constructed by Hassan Mahdi, the Wazir of Sultan Mahmud Ghaznavi, in 1019. It is considered to be the first mosque in North India which was restored by the Mughal Emperor Humayun. Nearby, there is a Maqbara of Ghazi Sayyad Salar Masud, the 11th century Islamic saint and soldier. This was built by Qutubuddin Aibak, the first ruler of the Delhi Sultanate.)
and gandhi Bagh, Clock Tower, Surajkund lake, St John's Church, Sri Digamber jain temple etc.....

Meerut is a very good city to explore if you really are interested in the historic India Facts.
