Visiting Ujjain

The George Castle was built by, Jiwaji Rao Scindia. There is an interesting story associated with the construction of the George Castle. In the year 1911, King George V came to India from England. On that trip, he was supposed to travel through this area. He was interested in tiger shooting and he wanted to halt at this place for a night.
Jiwaji Rao ordered the construction of a castle so that the King could reside there overnight. The visitor shot a tiger on the way itself and did not need to spend the night at the castle, which was constructed only for him.

The George Castle is indeed magnificent. There are a large number of turrets in this castle.
We were lucky to visit the George Castle at dusk. My grandma told dusk was the best time to visit this castle. We got an excellent view of the Sakhya Sagar Lake from these turrets.
At sunset, the color of the water keeps changing continually. It reflects the beautiful color of the sky, which displays varying hues at this hour. I liked the sight of the surrounding forests, which looked beautiful from the castle.
