Chitrakoot!! The Next Happening Destination!!

Hey, ILs!!

Has any of you been to this place called Chitrakut??
I have heard its a wonderful place...and on searching, just came across some mythological importance...

According to legend, it was the dwelling place of Lord Ram, his wife Sita and brother Lakshman during their exile. The place has over 30 temples. The great poet Tulsidas spend many years of his life at Chitrakut.

I have also heard that it is aserene and picturesque place!! It has really evoked interest in me. Would love to go there !!

Can any of you add to my information here??

Situated in Banda District of Uttar Pradesh, on the banks of river Paisuni (Mandakini), Chitrakoot Dham is one of the most ancient holy pilgrim places of India.

Hi Muktachabda, Bhimbetka (as posted by you in the picture) is not in Chitrakoot. That is altogether a different place 46 Km from Bhopal - the nearest Airport.

Whereas, the nearest airport to Chitrakoot is Khajuraho.

Well the best season to visit Chitrakoot is October to March and do you know Chitrakoot is also called the 'Abode of Gods'. It is said that sufferers and seekers, poets and visionaries, princes and noblemen have all found solace, drawn inspiration and gained spiritual strength in Chitrakoot. You must definitely visit this lovely place.
