Its been quite sometime, I've been into this forum and the response and love shown for the Rajasthan specialty 'Dal-baati-churma' is euphoric. You can say this has inspired me to come up with this rather unusual thread dedicated to it. Hope to see you all die-hard fans here and do not forget to share your experiences, the best place you tasted dal-baati and Rajasthani ladies ...do not forget to share your variations to the recipe.

For the best dal batti you have to be my guest Big Laugh. Hey my daughters believe my dal battti is best. This is one of our favourate . My li'l daughter can smell it rght from outside the home ,mum you have cooked dal batti .
As such in rajasthan we get many many times best dal batti churma feast in pinics & celebrations.
Hey long back I have started athread rajasthani recipes in regional recipe section you can visit that & can add further rajasthani dishes.
Ad some Hari mirch fried & Gatta sabji & Pulav to your wonderful feast .

Wow meera, What a delicious fan club! Thanks for the tempting picture. It really has been my favorite attraction on every Jaipur visit. But really never tried it at home. Can anybody post the recipe please.

Hi Jaishree, I believe anyone reading your post would like to be your guest. I genuinely believe, the preparation has be authentic, because I've tasted good and 'not so good' dal baati.....The baati is made in some tandoor, right? Can it it be done in a oven in modern kitchens.

Hi there, this khana seems to be really tasty. Honestly speaking, I do not have any knowledge about 'dal-baati-churma'; however, I'm sure it is good. Please let me know what is the specialty of this dish and what is it made of. Is it one dish or 3 separate preparations, eaten together. Sorry...for not knowing about this hugely popular dish (as I can read from the posts). But, I'd love to know and prepare at home. Thanks.

I had my very first at LMB - I still remember it!! It was sooooooooo gooddddddddd!! My maasi thought that since I was a little phirangi kid, I would probably just not like it.. Big Laugh to everyone's suprise I cleaned the plate!!!

Although I stay in the other end of the country, in a truly united style - I love this dish. I had it first at a friend's place and loved it. After that, have been having it now and then at restaurants here! So I am in the fan club for sure
