Ramayan and Ramlila

The whole Ayodhya city brightens up during the Ramlila celebrations during September- October.

Ram Lila is the traditional enactment of the story of Lord Ram. The Ram Lila presentation evokes a festive atmosphere. The Ram Lila is also rich in performance of crafts like costume and jewelry, dead gear, masks, make-up and decoration. Ram Lila is presented as a cycle play with the story varying from 7 to 31 days.

Ayodhya is quite popular for mandali Ram Lila. It’s a unique experience to watch the well decorated stage and sets, with experienced artistes mouthing catchy dialogues right there in Ayodha – the birth place of Lord Ram.
