Default Camcorder for India

Hi

I am looking for a camcorder to take to India. I am looking at Sony DCr HC 36 or 38. Does this work in India with an adapter? The recording will play on Indian TVs? Do I need to buy the ones specially designed for India/PAL use?

Thanks

Hi,

This may be a late reply to u, but I wanted to give my suggestion.. I dont have any idea abt the model u r asking abt. But I want you to know abt the problem we are facing.. I bought a Samsung camcorder for my bro in India, now there is some problem in it. Tape comes out whenever v start to record or play.

Problem is when he contacted samsung dealer itself, they said the parts have to be imported to India to fix it. This might take more than 6 months, who knows.. My bro couldnt fix that in local electronic shops too.

So from my personal experience, it would be easier if you buy something thats available in India itself..
