Any good Indian restaurants in Tampa area...

Hello Ladies,

As I said earlier in one of the threads, I recently moved into the US.

I am bored cooking everyday at home. Want to go out for eating.
But the problem is being a vegetarian, we have very limited choices trying in these American and Mexican restaurants.

Is there any good Indian restaurants in the Tampa area.
Please let me know.

There is one Indian restaurant on Flower Avenue in Tampa called TAJ.
We have been there a couple of times when we were in Tampa.

When I had been to my friends place in Tampa, they took us to a restaurant called Bombay Masala. May be you can search in Yellow pages-Tampa.

Lots of spicy food were there in their menu - it was very good.

We were in Tampa for almost 2 years and have freeked in a couple of Indian restaurants there.

Try out in Angithi Fine, it is just opposite to University Mall in Fowler avenue. The same location where Taj is located, as mentioned by Vani.

I live in Orlando, FL. I am originally from Bangalore. I have been to tampa many time. There is also good south indian restaurant called "Udupi". Very authentic. I don't know the street name.

Taj & Angithi opposite USF on Fowler are non-veg restaurants & Bombay masala is on 30th street. If you like vegetarian south indian food - Udipi on Dale Mabry between Erhlich & Handy is very good. Their website is http://udipiusa.com
A new south indian rest. is open on Fowler near 56th St. - serves buffets all days - veg & non.veg food - tastes good too. Its called Kiran Indian Kitchen webpg http://atkiran.com/ Its run by the same group as Kiran groceries. If you want to drive a little further then there's Sai Indian Restaurant on 1300 East Bay Drive, Largo ph : (727) 581-3887 Hours: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Monday. Its a self serve place so prices go upto $5.99 only & has its own grocery store adjacent to it too. I'm yet to try it but I've heard a lot of good remarks about it.

Shalimar Indian cuisine is on 204 S Morgan St, Tampa. ph 813-222-3400 - this I'm not sure if its only veg. Hope this helps.
