Default Costco & Sams Club

Hello Everybody,

I want to take member ship card in either costco or samsclub. could u please guide me which one is better. I buy fruits a lot and I found fruits specially raspberries, bluebrries etc... are very costly in Kroger and Walmart. Can i get these fruits in sams club? Is it worth taking member ship only for the sake of fruits? Thanks in advance.

Hi
I would prefer costco not only for the price but also for quality . Even bananas we get from them are tasty ............You can get all the fruits that are tasty and worth the money we spend . Costco was voted the best among the 3 wholesale clubs .

Regards

Hi,

My vote is for COSTCO.I had been a member of SAMS for a year and then switched to costco finding it very good in Quality for a price less than SAMS.

If it is only for fruits, think again.I think the membership fee is $ 50,if you are able to buy things for that amount in 2-3 mnths, then it might be worth it.We became Costco members 6 mnths back just to buy diapers and wipes mainly. We found it worth it and now we buy soaps, detergents, juice, coffee powder, snacks, oil, sugar and salt, toilet rolls, kitchen rolls etc from there and it is quite a saving.Basically we buy non-perishables only.

Wholesale Clubs in USA work this way - Mutual profit. There isnt one club out there that's "have-'em-all". Be remember that !!

Now coming to each clubs, It depends on your need..

Are you going to eat pounds of fruit every week? if so, go ahead with the membership, else buying local is cheaper.

Wholesale is usually for bulk purchase for large families or for families who are in need of bulk stuff...

If you compare the prices, including the membership fee and the local purchase, most of the times for regular purchase, local seems to be the best way to go.

Not every brands are available in all the clubs. If you are looking for lets say aquafresh paste, its in COSTCO, but not necessarily in BJs or SAMs

Costco stockup takes a lot of time than the other 2 clubs.

When it comes to food, Sams always have better options and deals

Electronics, I felt Sams again is the best and at times Costco, but BJs never a consideration.

Coupons, BJs and COSTCO accept them, but not Sams. Also BJs mail you the coupons regularly.

Customer Service/transactions, Sams hands down.. I hate BJs or Costco - Such a hugeeeeeeeee line always. But in certain BJs stores you have self-checkout, so thats a relief.

Costco usually have lots of deals when compared to the other two.

Also BJs accept credit cards, others only Debit cards or AMEX if I remember correctly.

Above all, with the gas price and inflation, got to really think before getting into these clubs.. most of the time it ain't worth it ;)

Hi
we are members of costco..But we dont buy fruits there as we have to buy in bulk..Since we are only 3 in our family we dont buy perishables at all..
We usually buy laundry detergent, juice, pasta, oil, kitchen towels, disposable cups, plates, coffee powder, bottled water and sometimes if there is a deal buy electronic items..

Both costco and sam's club allow free visits..U can just visit and found out for u'r self..But i guess u can choose the one which is closest cuz as nandu mentioned its definitely not worth travelling miles just to save a few dollars..

If you are particularly looking for buying fruits, then Super H-Mart is the best in Atlanta. Fruits are cheaper here than in Walmart and they are good too.

I am a member of Sams which I like. You should visit these stores to see what your needs are. Also you might not just buy fruits but so many other things too!
