    I was looking at prices to India couple days ago and NYC/Delhi was in the mid-700's!! I have never seen such low prices.

    I noticed that too...tickets from LAX to chennai in the december holiday season is about $1200? It used to be like that in 2008 when the oil prices were cheap but I cant understand the reason now. May be we should book our tickets now :)

    I wonder if it's the Ebola scare that is driving down prices. Anyway, very low prices...lowest I have ever seen and on better airlines. I saw 714 on Etihad...

    I keep checking the airfares from time to time. We dont have a vacation planned till Aug next year but the rates are tempting me to visit India. If we booked now, the cost in Aug would be less than $1000...itz a great deal...but my husband is not a person that would plan so early :(

    Ebola seems to be the only logical reason. Or the Indian economy. We wanted to travel locally in December and the rates dont seem that low locally.

    Etihad has some really good deals. I booked for my parents to come in December to June for Chennai to SFO @ $1100 each.

    I was $1066 last April on Emirates Rochester/Delhi and thought I had a bargain. But the prices now are amazing.

    Multiple factors I think, Etihad just started partnering with Jet recently and also the oil prices are low.

    The holiday season prices (december) is still high.
