Info regarding cell phone from US to India

    Hello Ladies,
    Please give me info regarding cell phone(as in india we have nokia,samsung etc) which also works in India.
    I want to buy a cell phone which also works in India for airtel sim cards/ aircell etc and also where I can get in good deal.

    Any one tried when went to India just replacing the simcards and did it worked.
    Please share ,I want to buy here itself if it works, or else will get one after going to India.

    US mobiles frequency is slightly different from Indian mobiles frequency . perhaps it would be better to purchase
    mobile in India for use in India . OR ensure that mobile works with GSM 900/1800 before purchasing a new one
