Neha,

Epilators are definitely different from Shavers. Epilators pull the hair off from the root. They work similar to waxing. Electric shavers just cut the hair on top of the skin.

As other mentioned, in longer run shaving could result in coarser hair(though some websites state othewise...am not sure myself). Epilation I hear is more painful the first few times, however if you have been using it, you have crossed the hurdle.

I currently wax my hands and legs and am planning to switch to epilation esp due to the cost. Which brand do u use?

Regards
Ramya

Hi All,

Electric shavers are something similar to razors.

Shavers will result in hair thickening.

It is much safer and easier to use Epilators. There are different brands available in the market.

As you all know, epilators pluck the hairs from the root. Def there will be delay in the regrowth. So atleast a week or 2 u can free from hairs.

Thanks !

i also heard that epilators break the hair more than waxing does...nd its more time consuming...is that true?

Hello evryone...i just wanted to pen down my experience regarding epilators...earlier i used to wax whn i was india as my sisiter used to be thr to wax....but after coming to US its jst nt possible to do it by our selves...so i purchased Braun Silk Epilator which is the best brand amoung epilators...its jst like a one time investmnt($100)...and u can keep using for yrs...Usually whn we try it for the frst time its really painful...but then later we'l get used to it...and thr wouldnt be much pain...Its jst amazing it removes the hair frm the roots keeping your legs and hands really smooth, shining & hair free for nearly 2- 3 weeks...hair growth wil also be very slow(whn compared to hair removal creams whr..hair growth is back within 3dasy& u can find black thick hair coming through skin pores).Yes it does take time since we need to do it by ourself....for me it takesabt 1/2hr for both hands.

Regarding the purchase of braun silk epilator in india u can find it easily in big electronic shops like... TMC in Hyd...it will cost u around Rs4000 -Rs5000 in india.

Hope this post helps .....

Thanks,
Priya
