Default Hair Removal for Pre teen

My daughter is 11 years old and she has excessive hair growth in her hands, legs, underarms etc. I for one who has no hair growth in these areas (have taken on my mother) and have not used any hair removal techniques till my duaghter was born.

Hence am not clear in mind as to what is the best option for my daughter. The issue is summer is approaching and she needs the underarms hair removed for her to wear sleeveless.

Can anybody suggest.

Thanks
Anu

Hi,

Considering your daughter's age, I think only hair removal cream is the best option, while waxing will be extremely painful on her sensitive young skin.

You can try out the cream hair remover and then may be mix curd with good turmeric and besan and apply on her arms and legs and in the long run, may be reduce hair growth in private areas.

Thanks Huma and Preetho.

Is there any cream you know that is recommended for a 11 year old.

BTW, have been applying turmeric since her birth. When she was born her hair was long enough to put two ponies. So lotsa hair in just in her gene.

Thumbs down Re: Hair Removal for Pre teen

Hi anukvs,

The best way to go about will be hair removing creams for now..since your daughter is just 11 years.

Waxing & Shaving will be painful for her.

As for the brand of the creams, try go for the ones for sensitive skin...or better still you can ask her physician to recommend some good hair removing cream.

If you go to Target/walmart...you can even ask a doctor/assistant in the Pharmacy counter...sure they will help you out !

Cheers
Krithika

Hi,
Hair removal/shaving would make hair comeback faster and thicker.
I agree that waxing is painful for the first time, but it makes hair to become thin and slows down the growth.
Hair removal/shaving makes the hair grow back in all directions and underarms would become dark.
I have done waxing for many young girls and have suggested to take some pain killers (tylonal) before waxing. And the young girls didn't experince that much pain.

Regards.
