IDEA Star Singer on Asianet

Hi all,

Any one watching IDEA Star Singer on the Malayalam channel Asianet.

An extraordinary reality show about the younger generation and their journey to stardom.!

A very good reality show.. Like to listen to the participants, all of them are very talented... Has many rounds... There will be some eliminations at the end of each round...

Malayalam Playback Singer - M.G.Sreekumar, one of the most popular music directors in the south Indian film industry - Sarath, and Usha Uthup,the popular playback singer of 70`s and 80`s are the Judges for this program... The panel also will have famous personalities also..

The judges will determine who will go on to compete in the next round of auditions, while the viewers will vote for the semi finalists through an SMS voting system.

The winner will get a flat worth Rs 40 Lakhs in Cochin from Confident group.. Also, The winner (top singer) will be given a chance to sing for the next film by Director Vinayan.

This is a very popular show in the Malayalam Television today...

I second Manju! It is a really great show!

We saw this show while were in India and really enjoyed it. It was one program the whole family religiously watched every single day :)

But here in US, we do not get Asianet channel, needless to say I am missing it.

Me too a fan of Idea Star singer 2007.
The show has an excellent panel of judges.....!!!
And Manju, a small correction...Usha Uthup is a popular pop singer....the first pop singer to be clad in sari and sing caberet numbers...!!!She has done some playback singing in a few movies....!
The judges give out the positive and negative remarks.....!! But one thing that upsets me is the SMS poll...!
For the contestants to recieve SMS they should not only sing well but also attract the audience....!!!

I was very upset when the contestant William - who also plays the guitar well, was elimintated!
I was soooo upset! I think he was a good singer!!!!!!!
Hmmn...these are jus my views!!!!!!!

Note:Their Onam Programme was tooo gud!Did u'll see that too?

Thanks for the correction... But I have taken information about the judges from Idea Star Singer website of Asianet. But u are right, she is a popular Pop singer.. I should have been more careful when posting...

And yes Jaya, even I sometimes curse SMS voting... Viewers at times, are cruel to the talented contestants... But there is no doubt that the show attracts a lot of viewers...

I couldn't see their Onam programme... You are telling about the Nammal Thammil with the contestants, right??

I too enjoy watching thid programme, I have lots and lots of appreciation for the orchestra, for several mix masala rounds u cant achieve unless u have trained, experieneced musicians in the orchestra.

I too watch this show regularly.Its so nice to see all the participants' talents.Whenever I miss a show, I watch it in You tube or Asianet global. SMS or no SMS, the deserving will definitely march ahead. Thats only a clever way to eliminate people.

For Onam.....for 2 episodes...that is during the 8.30 p.m to 9.30 p.m schedule they dint have the usual competition instead the participants danced Thiruvathirakali and sang nadan pattukal and then they showed them making onam sadhya...it was nice seeing all that...!
I watched the Nammal thammil show also...That was also good!!!
The show is a good platform for the talented singers...
I remember duirng one of the elimination round,one female got eliminated but she already got offers for pop albums...!
So..in one way...getting a chance to showcase their talent here is a big opportunity!!!!!!


Just waiting to know who the winner is...!!!

I missed those episodes...I was travelling at that time for Onam vacation in Kerala...

Even I am waiting to see who is the winner... Yesterday's combination round was so good... Those two girls Gayathri and Lekshmi did a wonderful performance... They were awarded high marks by the Judges also...

Yeah! I watched yday's episode....the pair of Lekshmi and Gayathri were too gud!!! Bold perforamce!and especially the comments by Sareth were nice....!!

Today also i dint miss it....
I was soo surprised when i saw Krishnajith bhanu dance....
He is the youngest in the whole team and during the previous performances he was sooo shy....but in today's performance round...adichu pollichu!!!!!

Yes Jaya, I saw today's episode also. Too good. The young boy was dancing so good. I think every day the performances are improving. Today Hesham did a wonderful performance and scored very well...
