In and around Pune for a tourist

Hi friends,
No, no I am not giving the information here.I am here seeking the info from you.My friends are going to Pune on a short trip of four days.
Please provide the information regarding the places of interest, where to stay and especially What to eat.....they are a bunch of foodies you see...and about the climate of Pune in winter.
Apart from 'Ashta vinayak' are ther places worth visiting around Pune?Thank you friends

www.virtualpune.com gives you all the detaisl you would like to know about Pune. There is Pichola Hotel near Pune University. The hotel is a good one to stay with family. The ambience is not that great but the staff is really a gem. The climate will be warm/cold now a days.

Around Pune you can visit Kandhala/Lonavala /Panchgani and mahabaleswar. All are hill stations. Lonavala and Kandala you can cover in a day, Lonavala is only 60kms from Pune and Kandala about 5kms from lonavala. Mahabaleswar and Panchgani can be covered in a day or two as you wish and the entire Pune you can cover in a day. You can opt for the tour bus service privded by PMPML for sight seeing in Pune.
