| hi nalilni & juhi, my best friend has just got shifted to Guwahati and here I come across this thread now. i'll get her whereabouts the next time I talk to her. may be u guys live close by. As she tells me, it's a small but beautiful city and she and her husband have covered almost the whole of it during their long walks. :D Her husband is in the telecom deptt. and i guess they live in the quarters given to them by the deptt. Cheers, Sonalika

| Hi Nalini, One of my dreams is to tour Assam. I am mesimerised with the rains, elephants, cutlure and mother nature too. I have been told by few that there is constant power cuts in this place and life comes to a standstill after 6 p.m. Power does not get resumed very soon and is a hindrance for the tourists. I just want to know if this is true? I am sure the hotels will have back up generators for the tourists. Streets will be well lit at night time for walks. Can you please throw light on this. I am very eager to visit Assam.
