My trip to Egypt last month..

Nice write up and great pics. Egypt is on my list of places to visit and I hope to get there one day.. soon.

Oh Sabitha, I so want to run and see Egypt after reading your post. Awesome and I am so happy that you had such a great time! 10yrs ago, living in Turkey we were debating whether to go to Italy or Egypt and guess what, we were newly married (very young), first job for hubby, first foreign assignment and could not afford a Nile Cruise...so chose Italy. Not that we regretted that trip, loved every bit of it but my hubby keeps telling everyone that Egypt is my dream vacation....will happen one day, I know not when though.

I too plan to make a trip there, before I leave Saudi. And more than that, before, our Egyptian Queen, Aruna leaves EgyptBig Laugh.

Great pictures and a lucid account of your visit to Egypt.
Africa is one continent that we have not stepped into although Egypt has always been the dream destination of my husband! Maybe, one day we will visit Egypt and in the meantime, it was fascinating to see it through your words.
In which month did you visit Egypt? Our friends are there right now and maybe Dec and Jan months have friendlier climate?
It was good to know that you received shopping tips from our Egyptian queen Arnuna! Wish you had photographed the shopping for our benefit?! Haa..there goes the woman in me, never appeased when it comes to shopping!
I can imagine Egypt being awesome. Afterall, it has one of the oldest civilisations.

Thanks a lot for your lovely comments.I actually could not meet Aruna as I was still new to IL at that time and could not PM her or vice versa.I bet you will have a lovely time and a mini IL meet in Egypt .BTW, Saras how is Saudi ? I was in Bahrain for some time before moving to UK and I found Bahrain to be very lavish in terms of food.Groceries were very cheap and most of the time we used to order the food from restaurants owing to the plethora of restos in the Manama city.

Kamla, great to see you here.We visited in October and it was still very hot.I would recommend Dec, Jan as the climate would be pleasant and perfect for sightseeing.You are right Egyptian civilization is still well preserved when it comes to the ancient civilizations and I would advise you to take the Nile cruise.I am a shopoholic and you should have seen my parents pulling me out of those shops literally as I was haggling ..Big LaughBig Laugh
