Default Trip to London and Europe

Hi All,

I would appreciate the feedback from experienced people as we are planning a trip to London and Europe.

We are planning for 3 weeks, in which 2 weeks is scheduled for Europe.

My question's are:

1) We are going with my mom(turning 70 next month) and our kids(7 & 3) so is guided tour a best option for Europe?

2) In regards to guided tour,we were looking at Star Tours, even though it is expensive around British pounds 1200 per person, thier itenary looks good.

Here it is:(14 days trip)
  • Brussels: Orientation tour,Atomium structure
  • Holland: Amsterdam city tour, Cheese & Clog factory, Diamond factory, Canal cruise, Madurodam/Keukenhof Tulip gardens
  • Germany: Cologne cathedral, Cruise on the river Rhine, Heidelberg, Black forest, Cuckoo clock outlet
  • Switzerland: Rhine Falls, Lucerne Sightseeing, Mt.Titlis, Mt. Jungfrau, Interlaken, Geneva
  • Austria: Swarovski Crystal World, Innsbruck orientation tour
  • Italy: Venice, St Marks square, Gondola ride, Murano Glass Showroom, Florence & Rome orientation tour, Coliseum,Trevi Fountain, Pisa,The Leaning Tower & Duomo
  • Paris: River Seine Cruise,Versailles Gardens, city tour, Eiffel tower, French Perfumery
They take us on a ferry to Holland and then it is going to be coach ride all along and then return to London on the Le-Shuttle train.

Will it be fine to go on the bus all along Europe?

3) Regarding travelling by ourself in Europe, we don't have a lot of information,is it possible to plan it over a month's time and will it cost us less or more when compared to guided tours?

Please do let me know your valuable suggestions,so that it will better help us prepare for the trip.

Thanks in advance,

Hi parinith

Try the following website

Eurail Pass: official USA site of European rail travel from Rail

Few years ago, we stopped at Frankfurt as DH's cousin lived there. She had asked us to book train tickets from Darmstadt to Interlaken to visit the Jungfrau.
DH booked online and we recd. via mail. I remember taking two trains from Darmstadt to Interlaken. From Interlaken you can take train to Jungfrau.
