I will visit India in Jan and planning to go for 5 days to Goa with my oldest daughter, her son (7) and my youngest (11). My plan is lie by the pool/on the beach, read books and the kids will play peacefully but let's see. This is the first time for my daughter to visit India and she is to some extent nervous how it will be. That is why I selected Goa that to my knowledge (never been there) is quite westernish (whatever that means). Was thinking of visiting some place with animals and/or some waterpark with the kids. Any good tips? I have understood that the dressing code in Goa is relaxed, you can have bikini on the beach and use western clothes elsewhere (like jeans and tops, skirts with bare legs etc). Of course if visiting temples or churches the situation is different. We are going to be at Colva beach. Do people swim there? Noticed when we were in Udupi last year that we were a big attraction as we had swimming suits on and went swimming in the sea :rotfl How is the food? My daughter (and her son) are vegetarians but the kids cannot eat spicy food. My daughter can to some extent I assume. Any must-see attraction?
dear crayoness welcome to India....u made the best choice for a holiday.there can't be a better place for vacation if you want to relax by the pool and the sea. you have many options for food in Goa, which serves you continental dishes.you can taste the goan local food as well, if you can stand spicy foods.on request they can cook less spicy local foods too. visit the Dona Paula statue..its a beautiful tourist attraction. all the beaches in Goa are very beautiful and are must see places.then you have he beautiful temples and churches, where u know about the dress codes. visit the fort, the casinos, the cruise ride....they are all beautiful.....when you will be amidst the waters all the while in Goa...why do u wanna go to some water park?carry enough mosquito repellents creams....and drink only mineral waters... have a happy and safe vacation
The reason I thought of some water park was that wanted something for the kids in addition to the sea/pool. I also thought of visiting some animal park with elephants but concerned about the treatment of the animals. My daughter is very strict on that and having a hard time checking on the net how the animals are treated. We were last year in Udupi and saw some severe abuse of horses and would like to avoid that.
You just posted about visiting India with your oldest daughter, son & family but you didn't come back to share your experience to travel in India.
