Vaishno Devi Yatra

Nice reading the comments of Daffodil on Maa Vaishno Devi.

I have been there, during my stay in New Delhi. As suggested, ideal period for the visit will be April-August (Children will be comfortable). We boarded Jammu-Tawi Express from New Delhi and reached Katra. There are many hotels near the shrine. So staying should not be a problem,but it is better to book in advance. There are many restaurants too near the hotels. Rajma + Chawal was yummy. We had it in a Vaishanav Dhabha. Came to know from the restaurant people, they will not use Garlic and Onion in their Menu.

We walked from Katra up to the shrine. We could really feel the clouds touching us and beauty of Nature on your sides. Wow !! No words to explain that.... One will enjoy a lot. Ideal time to start walking by 6pm and reach the shrine for the first Aarti. We did like this. It was a very nice experience.

"Ma ki bulawa" is very important and it is very true.... During my stay in New Delhi for 7 years, every year we used to plan, but it could not materialise. All of a sudden, without planning, it clicked. Very memorable... in my life.

Will pray for you all... to get that wonderful/glimpse/dharshan of Maa.
