Hi Sunkan,

Nice to see the list.

In India so far the most pathetic place where we stayed was the sterling resort in Munnar.

Also one of our BOD's wife had complained of clark Amer.

For the kitchen i can vouch that even the classies of hotels may not be maintaining that high standard of hygeine...so when you want to eat out just forget everything and enjoy.

you know roopa,
we indians are a tougher lot so far, we have survived on any water and food may be a diarrhea for a day or so, but other wise damn sturdy constitution, but when the same indians reach the US shore and return they come back with the habit of drinking only boiled water here and coke to compensate and nothing without ketchup, and they bring along microwave stuff and some health drink in tiny cans which they cannot do without, slang of course is the base all changed, uschzee starts and goes on..so it is for them they want to come down for holidays and if we could enlighten them about where free availableness of cokes and so on, western toilet availability all comes under this i know the subject strays but then i felt this a good platform to bring in all the hotels to be missed to have a good holiday..sunkan

Hello Sunkan,

When we are in India, agreed that we develop more resistance power. But after living abroad in US for some years, the resistance decreases and that is why we become sensitive to the pollution, food and water in India. That is a fact.

What's with this branding of all the Indians in US about using ketchup and coke?? We don't drink coke ( in my family and circle of friends) and use ketchup for everything !!! Not all of us drink canned juices and parade it around !!

Another thing, even people in India have started using distilled water and boiled water. So, please don't point fingers at Indians residing abroad ! Many indian households have MW now..that is not an "abroad stuff" anymore !

Again, it is a wrong notion to think Indians come in search of coke and western toilets..this is not true !

Your topic of discussing hotels in US and UK has totally shifted to bashing the Indians residing abroad !

We can stay in posh hotels and also simple & decent hotels at Kumbakonam and Shirdi ! For sure, we have a good balance and don't have high expectations.

krithika,
i speak with my exposure, not bashing, they have become sensitive is what i say, only from what i have seen again here, so western toilets are a in thing with too many knee problems even in india, so when one says about the houses they can take for rent for 3 months for a stay in india they always seek for western toilet so when there is a list of hotel enlistment with western toilet facility we actually are helping them..

when i call some one home i always check with their likes to eat or an outing and so on, no bashing here, it is better to cater well than to be left behind saying ohh these are not to my liking, right, so just asking here what are the hotels suitable with good facilities and when i say like how you agree they have become very sensitive and now with mineral water and other purifiers even we have come up with it to help ourselves, and the microwave i mentioned i know it is here, but when u bring food from abroad and say they like only that this is again my exposure...so do not think all who have gone there are that, i am only giving an example of my exposure..sunkan
