Default Holidaying in Canada

Hi Friends from canada,

Can you give some info on holidaying in Canada. What else is there to see other than Niagara falls and how many days do we need.

If any one has been on a holiday there recently then what was your itinerary and what was the expense.

Thanks
Roopa.

Hi Roopa,

Even though I am in US, I've visited Canada a couple of times.

Could you please be more specific as to which part of Canada you plan to visit? The budget and the itinerary also depends from where you start your trip and the destination.

Is it near Vancouver (British Columbia) ,Calgary (in Alberta) in the west or more towards the east like Toronoto and the Niagara Falls area in Ontario and or Montral,Quebec city (Quebec) ?

Spring and Summer are ideal to visit these places although you definitely need jackets/sweaters at times.

If you can elaborate the places you have in mind, other IL'ites can give you some tips and ideas.

Cheers
Krithika

Canada is HUGE! larger than USA. So you need to find what to see. Do you want to do Toronto & the capital Ottawa which are really good. Or if yuo find Calgary/ vancouver nearer/ more interesting? Or someone did a cross country trin trip - toronto to vancouver ( USA doesnt have tht kind of rail network!). So its really a decision. I recommend toronto(with or without Niagara) & Ottawa which is really beautiful & so much like europe. Both are interesting & have a lot of things to see. Ottawa has a beautiful parliament complex & is really a lovely city.
