| My daughter Malathi's marriage took place at Chennai on 22/8/1984. From Jamshedpur we came down to Chennai in the first week of August. We went to Tirumalai to perform Kalyana Uthsavam to the Lord. Malathi was appearing for her M.Com first year at Sri Venkateswara University. We had put her up in a hotel with another lady candidate, as we had to retun to Chennai to see the marriage arrangements. The lady told us that she would finish her exam one day earlier and so we had to send some one to be wtih Malathi and to bring her back to Chennai. My son who was younger to Malathi was doing his final B.Sc at Madras Christian college. Luckily his college was closed for a few days on account of Hindi agitation. So we sent him to Tirupathi to escort her to the examination hall and to bring her back to Madras. There were only two days left for the D-day! Lo! An unexpected thing had happened. Prime Minister Indra Gandhi had dismissed the most popular NTR's government at Andhra Pradesh. Instantly all chaos started through out the state. All sorts of transport came to stand still. When we got the news we were in jitters. Though our son was quite young, he was quite matured and used to shoulder responsibilities. Yet what could he do in this unforeseen situation where even elders can't take risk? We were praying to Malaiyappa Swamy to save us from the predicament. My sister and her husband who was a station master landed in the morning. All along he was posted in Andhra only. The minute he arrived, we requested him to go to Tirupathi at once and bring back Malathi and her brother safely. We told him not to bother about money and bring them back by which ever mode of transport he considered safe.Later we came to know that hooligans attacked even private vihicles. The whole day we were keeping our fingers crossed and praying to the Lord constantly. We were receiving phone calls from the groom's house. Another side my brother was telling that we should not have allowed my daughter to write the exam just before the marriage. At night fall we all felt most jittery. The following night we had to go to the marriage hall.We all were just sitting and praying for the safe arrival of our children and our brother in law. To our great relief my brother in law came with the children around 2.30 a.m.He told us that he was waiting at the station as the station master had told him that late night if the situaion improved they would run the train service.. He told that till the last minute there was no surety of running the train and that by the Grace of God at the last minute they took the decision. God had saved us like this on so many occasions I have implicit faith in Him. The next morning my daughter' sister in law came to see her. She was also relieved to see her.So the marriage went off in a jubilant mood. God is Great! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() :b owdown![]() I bow down before him infinite times! .

| Dear Padma, God will never forsake His true devotees. If at all, anything happens adversely, that is because of our karma. Love, PS
