| Niagara Falls Trip - 5 After a heavy lunch, we walked back to the park area through the visitor center. We went directly to the attraction "Maid of the Mist" . This a 30min ride on a boat that takes us very close to the Horse Shoe falls ( the biggest of the 3 falls). For this we need to go up the Observation deck,(this is near the entrance ) then again come down in an elevator (175feet) and reach the bottom from we board the boat. There was quite a big queue for this. After we waited for about 35mts , we came closer to the boat. For this ride...we were again given ponchos( this time blue color!!). Yes, we will again be drenched during this cruise ride. [For “Maid of the Mist” , we are given yellow Ponchos !] Eagerly waited for the boat and finally we were aboard. We were very excited and nervous too. We feel the spray, wind and hear the falls up close.....As we go near and near ......this is soooooo huge and massive...the noise is deafening.....(this is the biggest of the 3 falls and the Canadian side have a full view) .So this is our chance to catch the full view of the falls(from US) and that tooo this close!! They have a caption for this.... "It's just as well you're speechless. No one can hear you over the roar". ![]() We get very close to the falls and kept clicking away for pictures. We also had to be careful not to get the camera & video wet. It was quite an emotional moment and along with the water drops, came the tears too ! (Don't ask me what is there to cry for this..I don't know! The boat slowly takes us back to the shore. From the boat, we get a full view of all the 3 falls ..people and buildings on Canadian side...so took many pics and video...as much as we could since we got drenched once again!! Once again, came up the elevator to the observation deck. We walked around there for sometime taking in the view. How many times you see this or how long you see this....we never get tired of it...it makes us want to keep clicking the camera again and again....for repeated pics....and the breathtaking view!! Still more to come....
