Query On Connecting Flight Baggage allowance

Dear Friends,
Can u please clarify the following.Suppose we are travelling from NJ to Chennai,with stop at Mumbai.In mumbai we r changing flight(International to Domestic).Can we carry the same baggage or we must meet the Domestic baggage allowance..which will put us in a tight corner as we will be carrying according to International baggage allowance.

Dear Supriya,
Recently in our India trip,we went in Indian Airlines from Mumbai to Chennai.No problem atall. But from Chennai to Madurai we went in Air decan .They asked us to pay Rs.2500 for extra luggage.But my dh did explain we are travelling international,after lots of hot arguements they accept.But we had very worst experience with that airlines.
So each airline differs.so please check in their websites.

Thank you Mohana for clarifying.We are going by Jet Airways..and we r told that its enough if we check out our luggage in chennai..no need to do it in Mumbai..I hope everything goes fine..
