Travelling Alone

Follow these tips when staying alone in a new town
1.Never centralise everything -for example cash,credit cards,jewellry,traveller's cheques in one bag.Seperate these things but always keep enough cash.Axerox of travel documents should be kept in a safe place.
2.Deposit your valuables in the hotel safe and obtain a receipt for the same on the hotel letter head.If you have not been able to deposit your valuables in the hotel safe,take them when you have shower and keep them under your pillow
3.Keep your camera in a locked suitcase covered by other luggage.
4.Have your room cleaned before you leave the room.
5.Do not get into the lift if there is only one person.Walk purposefully in the corridor.
6.Keep your key ready before you open the door.You make yourself easy target if you fumble with a key.Lock your door as soon as you enter your room in the evening.
7.In case you wake upto find someone rummmaging through your belongings do not sto him.It is better to lose your jewellry instead of your life.
8.We are friendly by nature and like to be liked.But this can make one vulnerable to thieves .Guard against people who seem to be just too friendly.
