Default congratulations!

Dear Vidya,

Hearty congratulations! Your three pieces were inspiring as
well as absorbing! Esp, the getup about our Chitra is
marvellous! You have a very good flair for writing, keep it up. I hope many more awards will follow-this is just a stepping stone.

Default The Right Role Models

Dear Vidhya,

Hearty congrats on your success. You have chosen the right persons as your role models and written beautifully about them. I too feel, having some unseen leaders and achievers as our role models may not help us as much as having people around us as role models. We can get hands-on experience from close quarters. There are thousands of women amongst us, who inspire us day in and day out.

Wish you many more successes!

Thanks a lot, Sundari. It is very nice of you to think ahead that I will win the contest. Please, please do think of me more in similar positive veins. It seems like God listens to you. Anyway, Ammami also had the same role model as you- Mrs Indira Gandhi. She loved to live in a country ruled by a woman.

warm regards
Vidya

Default Hi Sudha,

Thank you for the congrats. I enjoyed reading abt your grandmother and how she was there for you during your confinement. When I was born, I had severe colic and used to wail all night. Ammami was the only person who could handle me and not panic. What you say is so true, we do not have to look at unseen leaders for inspiration. There are motivating persons just beside us.

warm regards
Vidya

Thank you and God bless you.. !! Your entries were all wonderful and your word-craft is very impressive. You definitely belong to writers community, though you call yourself an Economist, your natural flair for writing is very obvious. From now on I must put my best foot forward..haha

I have a suggestion for Induslady here..

There should be First Second and Third places too- particularly when it is a competition such as this, where entrants have written about their favourite persons and loved ones- by not winning the competition, one should not feel that they have failed the person about whom they have written. You should plan for ‘certificate of participation’ for all the contestants, in honour of all those people who have proved to be inspirational and worthy of emulation.
Some women become role models at a personal level and some at pandemic level - there is no yardstick to measure who is more perfect or who is not.

ambika

Dear Induslady,
I very humbly withdraw my above suggestion and also apolozise for being officious and offering uncalled for advice ( though a well-meaning one) . Few friends expressed that it is also 'unambika' like and so I morally feel obliged to withdraw my suggestion.
All the very best
ambika
